Sang's POV

I've been studying under 'Master' Lin-Lin for a few months now, and I'm getting into the swing of things rather quickly. It's been hard work, learning and practicing new spells. Gardening, is pretty fun though, Lin grows a lot of plants that I've never heard of before. Some are huge and like to eat people, such as the Carnivora Mordedor, we have to keep harnesses on them, especially when their young sprouts, they tend to be more aggressive. Changing the harness is a pain though.

Some thrive in the dark, where we put them in the basement, taking only a small flashlight so we can see, nothing more so we can't disturb them. Others are more harmless, like the kiss-flower or the spinning daisies. Can you guess what they do? Yeah, no, didn't think so. You see, the kiss-flower, if you get close to it, will give you a passionate kiss on the lips. The spinning daisies spin their petals round and round, and as I've found out, make good fans in the hot sun. Shocking right? I know.

You also get used to the guts and blood after awhile. Cutting up different animals, to harvest their organs, bones, muscles and other things were really gross at first, but with Lin, you learn to get over it quickly. I have a feeling she just gets a kick out of seeing all the blood and guts spewing everywhere. Spiders and other bugs are fun to collect too. I've made it a game of sorts, to see how many I can catch in under minute.

I've learned a lot over the past few months, fitting two years worth of knowledge in 6 months. Which still makes me behind others my age. Witches don't officially 'graduate' till around age 16.

Some things that I've learned are interesting though, for example, did you know all humans have magic? Some are just born with a higher ability to use it, than others. You know those deja vu moments you have, where you remember dreaming it? It probably was a vision from the future, meaning the more often you have those moments, the more adept you are to magic. Same goes with when you wish really hard on something, and it happens. Or those super fast reflexes you suddenly get when you catch something that's about to fall.

I've also learned that, you don't need a wand for every spell, only for big, or powerful ones. And the reason you need a wand is,....well, let's just ask, would you prefer the possibility of your wand, or your hand to explode?

Depending on the person you are, you'll most likely choose the wand right? Or you're just trying to be a smart ass and just use your hand. Maybe you're in it for the aesthetic? I don't know. But you'll never be able to get your hand back, if you do. It was removed by magic, and you can never get back, a symbol will appear on the stub of your hand and it will refuse to regenerate no matter how hard you try.

But as of right now, I'm stirring an icky substance for Lin while she goes out into town to buy some things. She complained about having to wear 'regular basic human clothes' the entire time, and pout about how uncomfortable it was to cover her eyes, and be actually blind. It was her fault though, she chose to but her eyes there, and I told her as much. She just huffed and said that it was too 'normal' and not at all fun.

Even with my very basic understanding of human interaction, and watching the small chats our neighbors had sometimes, I knew that Lin's fashion sense was very queer, and not the least bit normal.

I tap the spoon on the edge of the cauldron, setting the spoon to the side. I stretch my sore muscles from stirring so long, and look at the clock to the side.

Lin would be back soon, it has been about 3 hours since she left, and I had already finished making dinner and dessert, just letting it cool down. I thought about it a little bit, and chose to go get some new flowers for the dining table. The old flowers were beginning to wilt and shrivel up. Plus, if I were to start reading, I'd get so caught up into it, I wouldn't notice if Lin got back, and she'd eat everything without even telling me. I learned that the hard way.

So, grabbing a basket and some shears, I walked outside. I began to cut some dead flowers if I saw any, leaving them on the ground, so they could decompose and fertilize the soil. I also began cutting some more flowers that I saw were pretty, hydrangeas, peonies, poppies, some wild lilies, and lavender too.

All of a sudden I heard something, shifting and moving, a small groan was heard. I pause my flower picking and go over to the edge of the barrier that surrounded the house.

There I saw a boy, several years older than me. He seemed to be Native American by the looks of it and had inky black hair. But what I saw terrified me. He was bleeding, a knife plunged into his abdomen.

Sorry for the cliff hanger! We'll have to see what happened to the boy next time. Do you know who it is? (Hint: It's Axel) I'm going to change the SB team's age in this story, a bit. They are going to be only 4-5 years older than Sang. Around 23-24 years old.
