Sang's POV
"Well, now. Sang, we keep can't keep adopting strays, you know. We need to learn some serious self control." Lin says as she watches Wil and Kayli run around looking at the beautiful garden and house. Their new charms glittering in the sunlight. Wil was given a pocket watch with small figures of summoning circles and stars on the cover. Kayli got a beetle pin. The jade green coloring make the beetle look life like, with golden borders.
"Oh shut up. They're my children now and there's nothing you can do about it." I snap back at her.
"Yes, but this is my cottage. And you realize one of them is actually older than you?" She says indignantly.
"Oh relax," I pat her arm in reassurance, and make my way back into the house to go fix up dinner. "Don't sweat the little details."
[~]~[~]~[~]~[~]~[~]I begin my cooking, and Wil comes up to me. "Um-" He begins his sentence but snaps his mouth shut before he could finish speaking. "Yes dollface? Did you need something?" I ask softly to coax him into having more confidence in his speech.
"I was uh-going to ask if you wanted help with cooking?" He asks and a light blush coats his cheeks. "Well-I have a lot of experience in the kitchen is all! Kayli made me cook since she often went s-out. And I thought I could be some help to repay all of your kindness for letting us stay here! And I know that you said you wouldn't charge us for staying here but-" I shove my spoon full of bread pudding in his mouth. He nearly chokes, but swallows it down. Then stares at me in shock and confusion. I giggle at his face and go back to mixing my pot. "Of course you can help me. It'd be appreciated. Although...Wil."
I hop off the small foot stool I used to reach the top of the stove and grabbed his face, pulling his face close to mine. Despite being younger than me, he was already taller than me by a couple inches. I almost pouted when I realized our contrasting heights. Shaking my head to get rid of my thoughts, I look into his caramel eyes.
"Do it because you want to. Not because you feel indebted to me. You're free now. From that awful man, and from that life. You never have to steal again. I-we will make sure live comfortably from now on. So choose what you want to do. Same goes for Kayli. She doesn't have to do what she's been doing. So it's up to you. What do you choose to do with your life now?" He just gapes at me, and tears begin to flow down his face. He cries and muffles his sobs in my shoulder. I just rub his back softly, in a comforting motion.
I look over at the wall, and see Lin and Kayli smiling warmly at us with slight smirks. A little bit of amusement sparks their eyes. I glared at them, and they walked off to avoid me and my surely scary glare.
After another minute or so, we finally broke off the hug. I missed his warmth but my bread pudding was going to start burning if I didn't turn off the stove soon. Lord knows what would happen if I burned Lin's dessert. I shiver at the memory of what happened last time.
Wil helped me finish making dinner. He was a wonderful cook, and certainly knew his way around a kitchen, so it only took a little while before everything was ready. Serving it up, we set the table. He was a wonderful assistant and showed many qualities of flowing magic in his veins that is untapped. Perhaps I would teach him a bit while he stays here, so that he can protect himself if I'm not able to stay by his side.
Lin had taken her coat off and the beautiful orbs that seemed to glow, winked at me. "That was sweet. I think I'll get cavities just by watching that." She used a small tele-link with me so we could speak in my mind for a second. "Seriously? You waste your powers on that?" She just giggles and begins stuffing her face with food. Groaning in pleasure she continues to eat. "Thank god! I thought I was going to die of starvation!"
"Oh hush, you just ate. Don't even think of lying to me. I say you eating those Pop-Poppies before you came inside." She sticks her tongue out at me. "Do-Do you like it...?" Wil looks at her blind 'eyes', with a questioning look and a spark of hope.
"My eyes are down here hunny," Wil looks at her now exposed chest, barely covered by her black dress. Her large sparkling purple eyes, right below her collarbones stare at him with hidden humor. The large black eyelashes fluttering every time she blinked. He screams and covers his eyes, a heavy blush paints his features. It's as if he doesn't know how to react, either in horror or in embarrassment.
I just laugh at him, and Kayli just gapes. Seemingly confused at how to react as well. "Sang, I don't see why you're laughing. Poor whittle thing! So scared, I'm sorry little one." She says in a teasing baby voice, and points at my eyepatch, " And what about you? No magic concealing items at the table young lady! We embrace our differences here!"
"Oops! I'm sorry I'm sorry! I forgot!" I say and remove the eyepatch. Blinking rapidly so that my other eye can adjust to the light, they gasp again.
"Woah! How is it doing that? Where did you get those contacts?" Kayli asks, staring into my eye.
"They're not contacts actually." I smile at her innocent curiosity, normally hidden behind her glare and sharp tone. "We, my dear, are witches!" Lin says in a chirpy voice.
