Sang's POV
We were in the garden today. I was showing Axel how to take care of weeping wisterias and tooth tithonias.
"Ok. So remember, once you pinch their pistol, you need to immediately grab the pliers and pull out the teeth. It only works a few times before they are fully aggressive."
I relay the steps back to him, and he nods while carefully inching to grab the pistol of the flower. It's actually pretty large this time, about 3 feet and 4 inches tall.
Axel lashed out his arm and grabbed it swiftly, pulling it lightly, while rapidly pulling out all the sharp teeth from the plant. I dash around picking them all up swiftly so we don't lose them and accidentally plant more. In a way, the teeth act like seeds to grow more.
Once all the teeth were pulled out, the plant gave a shriek and began withering away.
We both collapsed on the ground, sweating slightly. "Yay! We did it! We finally finished!" I cheer as I gave him a side hug. He cracked open one of his almond shaped eyes, and gave a small grin.
We heard a clap from behind us and we looked over at Rozalin. " Good job you two, you did good. Not the most efficient, but pretty good nonetheless."
"Why didn't you do it yourself then?!" Axel snapped back. "Because I don't want to. It's gross and waaayyyy too much work." Was the wonderful reply Lin decided to give.
"Anyways, Axel, darling~ It's time for your check up! Come on, let's go. Sang, can you check up on the Mandrakes please? I'll give you a candy pop if you do~"
"What are you talking about? You'd be lucky if I gave you a candy pop. I made them, so their mine." I deadpan at her.
She begins to pout," Awwww, that used to work on you all the time when you were younger! What happened to that sweet girl I found wandering around my property?"
"She grew up with an annoying master."
"Gah! I'm not annoying!" She shrieks. "Yeah, keep telling yourself that." I say as I turn around and begin walking towards the small greenhouse.

Axel's POV"Hmph... Ahhh, they grow up so fast~" The pout on Rozalin's face disappeared into a reminiscent smile, full of warmth and love."Mm, sometimes too fast. Don't you think, Axel?" She turns to me and asks.
"Yes, they do." I say, as I realize how fast I myself was forced to grow up. To become strong enough to live on my own, to not need anyone to help me. In return for that ability, I'm not able to trust anyone, I'm not able to be open.
At least not until now. Rozalin and Sang, have taught me what it feels like to have a real family in the short few weeks I've been here. I know that I can't stay much longer here with them. So I'll enjoy it, before it all disappears in the fog.
Witches don't let people stay with them for long. There are reasons for that, I know that. I know I'm not meant to have a family...
But it still hurts, to know that the first place to accept and love me, can't stay with me. They're only doing it to protect me though, and they love me very much. They've taught me some minor spells and other with things.
They've said that I have a higher connection to magic than most regular people, but not high enough to be a wizard.
Which is disheartening, since I can't do powerful spells. But it makes things easier now that I can pull small objects towards me, and control them. They also taught me how to sense magic.
"Thank you." Rozalin pauses in her footsteps for a second, before continuing on. "Mm. It's not a problem," is all she says softly.
I really can't thank them enough. For helping me, saving me, and for giving me hope.
We go inside, and she sits me down on the couch. Lifting up my shirt, she looks at the wound, inspecting it. I nervously play with my ring, the one Sang gave me to get through the barrier. Ironically, it has jellyfish inside of it. My favorite animal.
"Ok, it's all healed up now. You're cleared to be as active as you want!" She winks at me, and gets up. I smile sadly at her, we both know what that means.
"I don't want you to leave, truly. But I refuse to let you get hurt by just associating with us. I refuse to let you get hurt. That's why, I'm not allowing you to leave to fend for yourself. What kind of mother am I if I did? I'm sending you with people that can protect you, and will love you. To care for you now that we can't." She says with so much sadness, and I can hear the pain in her voice.
"Where would that be?" I ask carefully.
"It's called the Academy."
