i forgot you existed until they played that song

133 12 1

i'm sitting in the car alone
driving down the motorway
when the beat starts.

the lyrics, melodies, harmonies
play on top volume
my hands freeze on the wheel.

images of us dancing, laughing
and sharing our first kiss
flash through my mind.

each memory hurts more
like someone struck an dagger
straight through my skull.

i'm driving down the motorway
but i can't move my hands
my body is frozen
and there's a turn
but i just can't move around

the car collides with another
and everything goes still.
it was too hard for me that you're gone

and the radio was never on.
