Kinda there kinda not
"I hate school" Ellie complained as she joined me in the back of our black SUV.
"Good morning sunshine" I giggle as I straightened up my tie smiling brightly at her.
"Gosh , it's so early" She complains as she pulls out lipgloss from her Ralph Lauren book bag.
"Come on, be excited. We'll see the whole bunch today... plus , I told you about the Americans" I tease gently nudging her arm, she rolls her eye fixing her navy blue blazer.
"Honestly, that's a whole other scandal in itself" she smirks. Her brunette hair was pinned back into a high pony while her hazel eyes looked out the window watching the raindrops falls. "I want to be back in New York" she exclaimed hitting her head against the car seat while letting out a few groans of agony. We pulled up to the school gates waiting for the guards to allow us access. Paul, my driver , dropped us off in front of the school doors
"What time shall I pick you up Julie?" He ask
"Uhm, I'll text you. Not too sure yet" he nods and without another word drives off.
We entered the glass doors and walked downs the black and white checkered floor tiles towards our lockers, the hallways smelt lightly of lavender as everyone greeted each other, happy to see friends again.
" I want to grab a cappuccino before class" Ellie states as we begin packing our bags for class. I dig through my light grey Givenchy book bag looking for my mascara only to feel Ellie hit me over again
"Look, look, look" she hisses with each hit and I quickly look up while simultaneously moving my arms away from her
"Owww" I pout while trying to look at what she found so interesting and, there they were.
She was pretty I guess , nothing unusual nothing stunning either, blonde hair blue eyes the usual combination. However , if I'm being completely honest with myself , he was handsome.
"Not bad" I mutter returning to my previous task as I dug in my bag.
"Far from my type" Ellie mutters as she goes on her phone leaning against the locker.
"And what is your type again?" I ask cheekily as I raise an eyebrow finally finding my sparkly clear gloss
"British" she answers in a snarky manner and I can't help but laugh as the bell goes off. Sighing we bid our goodbyes and head of two different directions. I walk past the American without even giving him a single glance but I couldn't help but notice him and ,assumingely, his sister accents. They weren't bad, just noticeable. Defiantly wasn't an accent I had heard when I visit New York City when I stayed at the Hamptons.
As I walked past them I caught up with a friend as we arrived together exchanging small talk abut our winter break. Class went on and so did the day, it just went on and on and on.
"I really need this" Ellie says and she sips on her cappuccino taking a seat in the cafeteria. The marbled table tops held our lunch's and coffees or teas, occasionally the juice or soda but mostly coffee considering we were all going crazy from exhaustion here.
Oliver hands me a coffee as he joins us dropping his bag on the ground. Mason had also taken a seat as the usual Lunch time squad sat down.
"I don't like him" Oliver announced gesturing to the new boy.
"Why not?" I asked concerned "has he done anything?"
"No, he's just very ... flashy , new money I suppose" he adds in and I tilt my head
"Like in Great Gatsby?" I ask amused at his refernce and he nods
"Precisely , he's practically Gatsby himself walking about in a pink suite ... except his pink suite is his watch and bloody G-wagon he won't stop boosting about. I mean honestly mate, we all have one of those you aren't special" Oliver ranted and I raised my eyebrow , I hadn't seen him this irritated by someone he didn't know so quickly.
"And I assume you're Tom Buchanan then?" I tease only to receive a brief side eye, apparently I wasn't as funny as I thought I was. "Geez sorry about it tiger , why so hostile" I say gently as I rest my hand on his arm trying to comfort him.
"The lads just upset because they had a bit of an altercation" Mason adds in and Oliver shoots him an enraged looked.
"Already?"
"It wasn't my fault, he was arsing around with Andy and he bumped into me , he told me to watch myself and walked away like a fucking prick - he just got here and he's already acting hotter than hell" he voice raised and I could see the amused smile play on Ellie's face. She loved a good story.
"Breath love" I say and he simply scowls pulling himself away from my grasp.I felt my stomach drop but I knew he had no harmful intentions , he was always like this when he was mad and it always got to me. He hated being affectionate when he was angry or upset and I hated seeing him upset and not being able to help, it hurt so much you know especially when he would detach from me , every time he did it I felt it like a new stab wound in my stomach.
We've been together since practically pre-school and you'd think I would've been use to it by now.
Sighing , I decide to fiddle with my jersey ends letting him continue he's rant not daring to interrupt him.
"You've gone quiet?" He finally stops his rant as her raises his eyebrow at me
"Tired" I answer looking down onto my phone unamused in the slightest "Just tired."
