Jaimee, Nick, and Patrick just showed up. I thanked them profusely, even though I knew they'd come over and help anyway. Jaimee and Patrick started carrying in the bags of clothes, toys, etc., setting them in the living room, while Nick helped Jack carry in all the boxes and bring them upstairs. Nobody would let me do anything, but I insisted I could at least carry in some bags. Did they let me? No. Didn't really surprise me though, because really, I was supposed to be careful throughout this whole pregnancy. I understood that, but really, I could carry in lighter bags.
"Thanks you guys," I hugged all three of them as they all finished carrying everything in.
"You know we're here to help you and Jack with anything you need," Patrick smiled as he hugged me back.
"And in all reality, lets face it: Patrick made Nick and I come," Jaimee smirked.
"I feel the love," I laughed. "And honestly, we probably should have told you before we brought everything in, but we found out the genders today!"
"Truthfully, I paid no attention to what I was bringing in," Patrick said as he laughed. "What are you having?"
"It's a boy and a girl," Jack and I said together as we smiled.
"Aw, you guys!" Nick said, making us all laugh. "What? I have a soft spot for babies."
"None of your own," Patrick said. "Or I will kill you."
"You're good!" Jaimee insisted. "No need to kill the only guy who's ever loved me this much!"
"Good," Patrick said. "I want grandchildren from you, but not for a long time."
"Got it, dad," Jaimee laughed.
Jack suggested I show Jaimee everything we had gotten for the baby, while Patrick, Nick, and himself went upstairs and started to get everything out of the boxes. Jaimee and I agreed, then the boys made their way up the stairs. After a few minutes or so, we heard yelling, then laughter. I would assume that they were already fed up with trying to put at least one thing together. Jaimee and I were dying in the living room while I showed her everything, which she literally said "aww" at everything I showed her.
"So, that's basically everything we got for the babies," I smiled.
"And how much did all of this cost?" Jaimee smirked.
"I," I said as I packed a few things back into the bags. "don't think that's important."
"How much?" she asked.
"Dude, it had to have been well over to thousand dollars," I laughed.
"Two thousand dollars?!" Jaimee asked as she laughed.
"We want to be prepared!" I said. "And we obviously needed like two of each thing!"
"Question," she said.
"Answer," I said.
"Permission to spoil my niece and nephew?" Jaimee smiled.
"Permission granted," I laughed again.
"Good, because I already have things to give them!" Jaimee smiled as her face lit up. "I'll have to give them to you and Jack at the baby shower!" she instantly covered her mouth afterwards.
"What was that?" I smirked.
"Absolutely nothing," she said. "I don't know what you're talking about."
"When is it?" I asked.
"In like three days. We all decided we were going to throw you and Jack, then Pete and Patrick one on the same day," she explained.
