"This place will always be my favorite," Patrick smiled as we crawled into the vehicle.
"Right?" I asked as I laughed. "They're just as amazing as I remember, and the people there are even better."
"But you're still my favorite," he smirked as he took hold of my hand as I pulled out of the parking lot.
"And you're mine," I smiled, lifting his hand up and kissing it. "So, you still up for a little more adventure tonight?"
"I think I can handle it," he laughed.
"Good," I squeezed his hand.
I pulled onto the street and headed towards another place that meant so much to both Patrick and I. I obviously hadn't told him where I was going, and even though he hates surprises, he knows that I don't listen and give him surprises anyway. That's basically like telling a fish to not swim, if I can give Patrick surprises. I love him so much, so really, it's kind of like a package deal. After driving for at least another ten minutes, I pulled into yet another small parking lot. I parked, then ran around the vehicle and opened Patrick's door for him again. He hopped out, then I took his hand in mine. He still didn't know where we were, but he'd soon figure it out. It was only a minute or two walk from where I parked the car anyway.
"Pete," Patrick stopped me as he realized where we were.
"I hope this is ok," I smirked.
"Babe, it's more than ok," he said, grabbing my other hand and facing me. "You brought me to the beach we got married at. This place means so much to me. All the memories here are amazing, from getting ready with the guys, watching and laughing at you running away from the girls with Em in your arms, seeing you before the wedding, then having that amazing kiss, and finally, hearing you say those two words: I do. Pete, I love you so much. This spot right here is where we officially began our lives together."
"Our amazing, wonderful lives. Our lives that have grown so much, due to the three amazing kids we brought into this world together. Our kids are amazing, and they're just like their daddy, and like I said all those years ago, you daddy, not me daddy. I'm just a klutz," I chuckled.
"Pete, if you insist you're a klutz, then you're my klutz. I wouldn't want it any other way. You're the best thing to ever happen to me, you're the first person I've loved more than I ever thought possible, and baby, you're the first person I wanna wake up to every single morning for the rest of our lives," Patrick said, making me emotional and even himself.
"Patrick, I love you more than I can even explain. You know I'm bad with words, but I love you so, so much. You know, my dad said that we'd never last when I called him and told him about us, but we definitely proved him wrong. When you were pregnant with Em and I went to visit him when he was sick, right before I left, he told me that he was so happy for us and that you deserved me. Honestly, that put a smile on my face for weeks, months even. It's funny how one thing like that can change a life, just like it's funny how one simple person can impact someone's life in such a positive way for so long, and the fact that you know that that one person will never cease to amaze you is even better," I explained. "and that person,
Patrick, is you. It was always you.""It was always you too, babe," Patrick said as he allowed a tear to fall down his cheek.
"I love you so much," I said.
"I love you too," he said, wrapping his arms around me and kissing my cheek.
He and I stayed that way for what seemed like forever, but I didn't mind. If I had to choose to stay in anyone's arms for the rest of my life, it'd definitely be his. No doubt about it. Patrick honestly means more to me than I could ever describe, to him, or anyone else.
