Bella sat up in her hotel room, staring at her phone. She was waiting on him to text her back. I mean, she'd only sent him a message literally 2 seconds ago, but still...she was very anxious. They were in the middle of a very interesting conversation, to put it lightly.

Bella knew from the moment she met him that she loved him. And she knew that he loved her. But what were they gonna do about that now? They'd tried dating in the past and that clearly didn't work. But they were younger then, surely they'd be fine now, right?

A million thoughts swarmed Bella's head as she hugged her knees to her chest in her cozy pajamas.

Mingyu felt the same way.

God dammit, it was almost infuriating to watch.

Two friends who obviously care deeply for each other but refuse to do anything about it.

Hell, it was torture for their members.

But no one felt this pain as deeply as Mingyu did. Not even Bella herself.

He had to keep on acting fine while Bella was out here thriving. She had tons of male admirers who showered her in compliments and attention. She was laughing. She was having fun. It seemed like she totally forgot they had even broken up all those years ago.

He had to fake smile and laugh whenever she flirted with other members.

He had to suck it up whenever she got a little too close.

He had to pretend that the tension between them wasn't hanging so thick in the air that you could practically smell it.

He had to act like he didn't care.

He had to act like he didn't love her.

She was all he had. Sure, the members cared for him but no one cared like Bella did. Minghao was probably his closest bet, but he wasn't about to cuddle and kiss him whenever he felt particularly bad.

At the end of the day, all he wanted was Bella. And he didn't have her.
