Everyone knows how close the members of Seventeen are with the members of Astro. ArohaCarats were arguably the most iconic fandom duo next to MonCarats. This being said, one particular relationship stood out to fans the most.
Nope, not Moonbin and Seungkwan. I'm talking about MJ and Bella.
There was something about Bella finally interacting with boys older than her that just drove Carats wild. They were so used to seeing her talked to with respect and being the authority figure; frankly it was refreshing when the tables were turned.
This was in full effect at ISAC, when the six members of Astro all came to sit and chit chat with the group. Bella, who was sitting a bit off to the side, was joined by MJ. Fans captured their every move as he approached, smiled at her as he sat, then simply sat in a comfortable silence.
After a few minutes, he rested his chin on her shoulder to get her attention. Once he had it, he knew she wasn't going anywhere for a while. The two had a long conversation about God knows what. As they talked, they stared deeply at each other and occasionally MJ would touch her knee or her back.
Despite MJ being the loud, happy-go-lucky, happy virus of his group, he always toned it down a notch with Bella. He was very well aware that he was one of the very few older men in her life and took on the role seriously. He wanted to be someone she went to for advice and comfort, and he certainly was.
Despite Bella's usual demeanor, she adored being babied by MJ. The pats on the head, the pinching of the cheeks, the coos and kisses; she loves every single second of it.
He once referred to her as "LaLa-ssi" in an interview and everyone stopped to ask what the hell he was talking about — turns out, that's his nickname for her.
Fans of both groups knew too well not to get too hopeful for a relationship—they've known each other for years, MJ has stated multiple times that Bella is the little sister he's always wanted, and he feels honored that she looks up to him and trusts him.
