Carats and Knets are fearing the worst at the moment.

Rumors are swarming the internet of Seventeen's hugely popular subunit, SVT-LADY, splitting from the rest of the group and becoming their own full group under PLEDIS.

These rumors come after the official Seventeen account posted the teaser for the music video of their new song, Getting Closer, with the girls nowhere to be found. It was also pointed out that they filmed the music video and teaser while the girls were promoting separately for their mini album, ILY.

Despite this, though, they still performed the song with the boys at the 2018 MAMAs in Hong Kong. So...what's going on? Did they film all of their parts separately? That's certainly what fans were hoping, until this happened...

Han Sung Soo, the owner of PLEDIS, posted a photo of the girls on his personal Instagram account (@pledis_boss). Read the translation of his caption below:

"Carats, do not worry. LADY have had a very hectic and tiring year and for that, I say thank you and you've worked hard. I wish you will congratulate them for all of their success as well. They will be given lots of time to rest and regroup now."

His ambiguous words have fans speculating if this means that the girls will not be included in this next comeback.

Then ChaCha posted the same photo with this lengthy caption:

"I didn't get to thank anyone at MAMA HK, so I wanted to do it here. Thank you so so so so so so much. I cannot thank you enough. Firstly, to my members who are there for me when I'm down. How incredible is it that we have each other? You've worked so hard this year, I could not be prouder of all of you. Second, to my Carats. I would be nothing without you. I owe everything to you and will work harder to repay your love.

To my LADY members...let's be honest, it's tiring, isn't it? We've had a long, difficult year. I hope now that it's coming to an end, we'll be healthy and happy again. That's most important. It's okay to take a rest if you can't handle things. Let's rest a while.

Thank you again, for everything. I truly love you."

Even though nothing has been confirmed, it certainly seems like the girls are taking some time off to recoup and regroup. They certainly deserve it.

@saythename_17: It is with a heavy heart that we announce our sub-unit @SVT_LADY will be put on a permanent hiatus. We are so proud of our girls and the hard work they've done this year, but after long and thoughtful discussions, they've decided that they want to work closely with their members again and continue as an entire group. Again, we cannot thank them enough for their work and will support the girls no matter which direction they go in the future. We hope you will, as well. #ThankYouLADY

@lee_bella: What a beautiful thing friendship is. The girls are I are so grateful to you for all of your love and support ever since we debuted. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. We've decided, as a foursome, that we want to focus more on what our original goal was: making music with our brothers. It's not that we were unhappy, it's just...we were often lonely without them. As much as we loved doing what we did, something was missing. We realized we needed them, like a sort of comfort blanket. We'll be with Carats always, and hope you'll still be with us too. It has now been confirmed that even though the girls did film for the music video of Getting Closer, they will not be participating in any promotions.

Their final single will be revealed at their final 4-day long concert series as a unit, in late January.
