"Y/n! How long were you planning on staying out?! You could've at least called us, or even sent a quick text!"

My mom and dad were waiting in the living room. I looked towards the kitchen to see the lights turned off. Looks like my mom finally exited the kitchen.

"Y/n? You have anything to say?"

I looked at them and then looked at my feet and sighed. They looked exhausted and worried.

"Yeah, sorry. I was at my friend's house..."

"You've told me that already. Why were you late?"

"Hold on! I wasn't done explaining. I was trying to leave but then they told me to stay for dinner! I told them you guys would worry if I was out late, but he took my phone! I had to stay for dinner if I wanted my phone back. It wasn't a big deal or anything though because they're really nice and good—"

"He? Who's he?"

"Oh. Um. My friend's brother..."

Technically I wasn't lying because Jimin considered me his friend and Tae had stolen my phone. Unfortunately he gave it to Namjoon, who was a LOT taller than me.

"Y/N! WHY WERE YOU OVER SOME GUYS' HOUSE?"

I winced at my dad's loud voice. I then watched my parents with my mouth wide open. I never told them that I was over with any guys, I mean now they knew about a brother, but my friend could've been a girl right?

"Dad. I was over at a friend's house and she's a girl not a guy."

"Don't lie to us y/n."

My mom looked at me with a pained expression. Why was she so caught on me lying?

"Min Jae called us saying that she saw you with some boys from our school."

"It's fine mom. They're nice and friendly!"

"But I don't want you staying this late! Especially over at a guy's place! It's almost 11:30!"

I looked at the clock and noticed that she was correct. It was pretty late and all the fun made me miss that.

"Sorry. Won't happen again."

I apologized and started upstairs to my room.

"And y/n. Don't make a habit to hang out with boys. Stick to your friend group. They're smart and kind and care for you."

My dad even lectured me as I walked upstairs. I acknowledged what he said before making my way to my room. Yeah. Nice friends alright. Friends that blame me for things I didn't even know I did. I'm fine with being a single child because my parents have all their attention on me, but sometimes I wish they'd focus on something else instead of who I'm friends with. I plopped on my bed and pulled my phone out. Homework could wait for tomorrow. It was a Friday after all. I texted the group chat I had with the boys. We had exchanged numbers when Tae stole my phone
