"So it's true. You're all really out there." Miguel states as he looks at the buildings.
"You thought we weren't?" Victoria asks.
"Well I thought it was a made up thing adults told kids." Miguel says.
"Like vitamins." Maria laughs and smiles at Miguel who nods.
"Maria, vitamins are a real thing." Victoria scowls.
"Well now I'm thinking maybe it could be."
As the family walks up to a line of skeletons, a voice sounds over everything with announcements. Maria and Miguel pull their hoods over their heads and cover themselves from peering eyes. Maria watches in fascination as Frida Kahlo walks up to a woman at a desk.
"Yes it is I. Frida Kahlo. Shall we skip the scanner? I'm on so many ofrendas it'll just overwhelm your blinky thingy." She says. A loud buz is heard.
"Well shoot. Looks like no one put up your photo. Frida." She smirks.
"Alright, when I said I was Frida just now, that was a lie. And I apologize for doing that." The "man" quickly changes his clothes.
"No photo on an ofrenda, no crossing the bridge." The lady tells him sternly.
"You know what? I'm just gonna zip right over, you won't even know I'm gone." The man runs past the guards and runs onto the bridge, sinking into the petals. He says things to himself before giving up and getting pulled away by two guards.
"Fine, fine. Whatever. Dumb flower...bridge?" He looks over in Maria and Miguel's direction and squints his eye sockets, hoping to get a better view before getting dragged out of sight.
"I don't know what I'd do if no one put up my photo." Rosetta says sadly before exclaiming about their turn, pulling Miguel and Maria to the front of the line.
"Welcome back amigos. Anything to declare?" The stampy man at the entrance asks.
"As a matter of fact, yes." Julio pulls of Miguel's hood as Maria pulls hers off. The man's jaw literally fell at the sight of the living children.
They all walk in and see a woman yell at a woman sitting at a desk.
"I demand to speak to the person in charge!" The woman shouts.
"I'm sorry señora. It says here, no one put up your photo." The frightened desk lady says, gesturing to her old computer.
"My family always, always puts my photo on the ofrenda. That devil box, tells you nothing but lies!" The angry woman pulls off her boot and starts hitting the computer with it. Papa Julio calls for her and screams when she points her boot at him.
"Ah, me familia. They wouldn't let me cross the bridge." She pull her boot back and and glares at the woman. "Tell this woman, and her devil box, that my photo is on the ofrenda."
"We never made it to the ofrenda." Julio awkwardly states.
"What?" She asks confused.
"We ran into, um..." Everyone parts to reveal Miguel and Maria.
"*gasp* Miguel? Maria?" The woman asks.
"Mama Imelda." Miguel and Maria say at the same time with a small chuckle.
"What is going on?" Imelda asks. Then, a door opens and a short skeleton calls us in.
"Well, you're cursed." He says climbing onto his desk.
"Cursed!?" Maria shouts.
"Dia de los Muertos is a time to give to the dead. And "he"..." The clerk looks at Miguel. "Stole from the dead."
"But I wasn't stealing the guitar." Miguel states.
"Guitar?" Imelda asks surprised but angry.
"It was my great great grandfathers."
"Ahahah, we do not speak of that musician. He is dead to this family." Imelda growls.
"Uh, you're all dead." Miguel states.
"Dead?" Maria says to herself. "Wait! Does a that mean my parents are here?"
Everyone looks at Maria, before the door bursts open and two skeletons rush in.
