Aditya focused on Zoya. Her eyes were shut tightly, her fists clenched as the plane started to rise. He grabbed onto one of her hands which prompted her to open her eyes and offer him a smile. She pulled her scarf up slightly, tapping her cheeks with it

Zoya wanted nothing more than to put Yash and his actions at the back of her mind for the remainder of the journey, yet it seemed easier said than done. He was there everytime she shut her eyes. Her eyes fell upon a couple sat opposite them, they were laughing together and holding eachother. She wished it could be that easy for her too

Aditya followed her gaze, did she feel uncomfortable? Maybe she thought he wanted to move that fast and was concerned? "Don't worry"

"Huh" she replied, confused

"We don't ever have to be like other couples" he hoped his words would give her some peace

His response had made her feel sad, she wanted to get closer to him. He seemed to help with old memories and nightmares but if he didn't want to, that was fine. It's not like she had any idea what to do anyway. He would probably have preferred someone with more experience. "Do you want a relationship, like that, with somebody"

"What do you mean, with somebody, where are you planning on going" his brow raised

"Oh, I, nowhere, I just, I know you don't want to be like that with me" Zoya looked down

Aditya's eyes became darker "Who told you that"

"I, no one, I just thought, sorry I didn't mean" she shook her head lightly, allowing her hair to cover her face, once again she had angered him

"It's okay, i'm not mad at you" he tipped her chin up so her eyes were staring directly into his "One day, I would like that, but i'm in no rush, we have our whole lives ahead of us" he wanted to reassure her

But they didn't. They had but a few moments, the urge to tell him was burning in her throat, but she didn't want him to risk his safety trying to protect her "What if all we have is, sometimes tomorow isn't promised and I"

"Tomorrow is always promised, for you, it always will be, because i'm with you, i'll always keep you safe Zoya, you trust me right"

Would it be stupid to believe he could have the power to keep them both safe? "I, I do, I trust you, but you have to be safe too" Zoya held his hand, circling his palm with her fingers

"As long as you are safe, I will be too, i'll always find a way to get to you, I promise" he kissed her forehead then leant back.

"I hope you don't mind, I wanted some time to show you around before I introduce you to my ma"

She was happy with anything, because for now they were both safe. Her eyes wandered over the flowers in the front garden, lillies had always been her faviourate. "Who grew these"

"Our housekeeper, do you like them" he automatically stepped closer to her, she didn't voice her likes or dislikes at all, he would take any opportunity to learn about her that he could

"Lillies are my faviourate, when I was small, I would steal them from my neighbours back garden, I always used to listen to the song Dil De Diya Hai, and imagined that when I was older and got married, my husband would sing that song for me atleast once a week and gift me those flowers, Abbu always said I lived in dreamland too much, but now I know, life is far from a fairytale" her voice became quiter towards the end

Aditya looked away, overcome by the need to hold her once again. He wished he had been able to give her the fairytale life she wanted from the start, but he would do all he could to make up for it now

"Sorry, sometimes I speak too much"

"You don't speak enough Zoya, speak more and don't apologise for talking about yourself, I want to learn"

"But, I know nothing about you" she frowned

Aditya smiled at how cute and innocent she looked, he was a man with many secrets, secrets far too dark for her. But he wanted her to know him better than anyone else. "Lets change that, ask me anything" he put his hand on her lower back, guiding her inside

"Faviourate colour"

"Chocolate brown" he answered almost immediatley, it was grey before he looked into her eyes "Yours"

"Dark blue" she squeaked, her eyes ran quickly over his dark blue jumper, she enjoyed seeing him wear that colour, he seemed to give it something that automatically made it more appealing

Aditya smiled, sitting on the sofa "Faviourate food"

"Aloo paratha, what about"

"Bananas" he cut her off, his cheeks tinged red "Sorry"

Zoya couldn't stop herself "That was cute" she gasped as soon as she said it, covering her mouth quickly "I didn't mean"

Aditya slapped the sofa with his hand, laughing hard "No one has ever called me cute, especially not at this age"

"It slipped out, I, um" Zoya really was stuck on what to say. Though she took some pride in the fact that he had laughed because of her "What is your faviourate thing to do"

Oh, that was easy "Spend time with you"

"Really" she grinned at him "That's my faviourate thing too"

Aditya felt his heart speed up. Never did he think that his faviourate pastime would be her faviourate too. Slowly, she was opening up to him and it made his heart swell. He rose his hand, beckoning her forward with two fingers

Zoya sat next to him, looking up at him expectantly. Then, understanding what he wanted, she led her head on his chest, eyes closing as she listened to the rhythmic beat of his heart

He wrapped his arms around her, resting his chin on her forehead, he closed his eyes.
