Jennie's P.O.V.

BLACKPINK Jennie's diary

Friday, July 5 2018

This isn't the first time things between me and a man - especially an idol - become awkward. I vividly remember the day Korean netizens kept posting news about a rumored relationship between me and Teddy, YG's songwriter. You know, the famous Teddy, that featured CL and GD sunbaes on the "The Leaders" song. Yes, that Teddy. Which, if you think about it, is completely absurd, because he is about 40 years old and I'm only 22. Why would I date such an old man? He could even be my father, for fuck's sake.

Anyways...

I'm pretty sure every idol experiences those weird moments when they get shipped with other idols that they don't know very well. Or, worse, that they know and don't get along with. Like, for example, me and Bangtan's "human Gucci", Kim Taehyung.

Honestly, I am completely dishonored and I could even say disgusted to call him that, because that is my nickname. I bet he doesn't even have half the Gucci that I have, so why is he also qualified as human Gucci? Oof, that's unfair as hell.

Whatever, back to the main point (although, I am still the main human Gucci). Today, me and my members, Jisoo, Rosé and Lisa, had to perform our comeback on Inkigayo. As always, I'm pretty sure you can imagine we did a great job - but there was this one man in the crowd - he was an idol, as he was sitting at one of the tables in the front, where only performers can sit - who kept staring at me the entire time being. I tried not to look at him because I didn't want to seem like I concentrated on such things during my performances, but it still felt very weird to know that I'm constantly being eyeballed by a male idol while performing.

And not ANY male idol, to clarify that part.

Kim fucking Taehyung of BTS.

I don't know him very well, actually. I mean, he comes to our dorm almost daily, since his members are dating my members - but I never really talk to him. He's just a very uninteresting man. I mean, so far. Maybe he isn't that boring when you get to know him, but I just didn't have any desire in talking to him.

I actually remember talking to him once - it was when he went to our kitchen to drink water and accidentally dropped the glass causing the floor tiles to crack. I tried so damn hard not to curse him back then.

Bonus, we met in a very...how do I say this...SPECIAL way.

*flashback - exactly two years ago*

"Hey, I'm super tired. That dance video was really hard to make!" I burst out.

"I know, right?!" Lisa approved, half her mouth filled with her cold Starbucks drink that she had just bought. We were randomly walking through the mall with only 20 dollars - all we were trying to do was hide away from Jisoo unnie who was forcing us to eat rice and chicken wings everyday, since she didn't know how to cook anything else.

At times, Lisa and I sneak out of our dorm and go to KFC that's 500m away so we can get rid of Jisoo unnie's oily and half-raw potatoes.

"We should go party tonight", Lisa said excitedly.

"Yeaaaah, sureeee", I said in a very sarcastic way. "You think Jisoo unnie is going to agree? Not in a million years. And sneaking out is not an option this time, because last time we snuck out to go to a party we ended up going home drunk with an uber and shouting swear words on the streets at 3am."

Lisa giggled, remembering the good old days. I had to admit, getting in trouble is sometimes fun, especially with Lisa.

"Ohhh, remember when we snuck out to buy Coke? Goddamn it, it felt like a real mission", Lisa said.

"Yeah, I agree", I responded. "Anyways, maybe we can just take Rosé unnie with us - and if Jisoo unnie will know we're in Rosé's supervision, she'll agree. Right?"

"Yeah", Lisa replied. "I'm pretty sure she will get way more drunk than we will, but anyways", and we both laughed here.

(note from author: I made Rosé and Jennie switch places when it comes to age, because I just feel like Jennie and Lisa are more like the maknae line in this story.)

After a long kind of lecture with Jisoo unnie, we got to party - exactly what we wanted to do that night.

The moment we walked in, we ordered three bottles of soju, and went to the dance floor, since they were playing 2NE1 sunbaes' song, "I Am The Best".

As I was dancing to the song, I made eye contact with this man in the crowd. He gazed at me, and that gaze went straight through my heart for some reason.

It was only a few minutes passed midnight and the same man that was staring at me earlier was already drunk as heck. He climbed on a table with his friends and started dancing like he was completely out of his mind. He bent over and lifted another bottle of soju to the ceiling, drinking it all from one gulp. This man really doesn't realize he is ruining his health right now, I thought. Lisa and Rosé were sober, but nothing much - they weren't acting crazy yet, which was a good sign.

(note from author: I moved BTS' debut from June 2013 to August 2016, just like Blackpink's so when they met here - in July 2016 - Jennie didn't recognize Taehyung because they weren't famous yet)

Less than a minute later, he took his hoodie off with his shirt. DAMN! I thought. As his six other friends started taking their shirts off as well, Lisa and Rosé seemed hyped, but I was just so shocked I was unable to move. They seemed to be having a good time, so I couldn't ruin it and tell them I wanted to go home.

"Hey, you!" he said, and threw me his shirt and hoodie. I instinctively - but without wanting - caught it and caused the entire crowd to stare at me. I looked at each one of their faces in awe, trying to catch a glimpse of what was going on, but no chance. A few seconds later - that seemed like an eternity - I threw him the hoodie and shirt back and continued dancing like nothing happened so the crowd could stop staring at me. I sighed in relief when they weren't concentrating on me anymore. Damn, that was close.

When it was time to go, we met outside.

"Hey, pretty girl. I'm Kim Taehyung. Nice to meet you. You're really pretty. What's your name?"

Right then his friends came and took him away. As he was walking, he looked back at me a few times and I smiled dumbly at the sight of that, but deep inside it felt very awkward. I haven't talked to guys as much ever since I broke up with my ex, Yuto.

*end of flashback*

Up until today, which means exactly two years later, he still doesn't know the girl he met at the club that night was me, since I was wearing a mask. I know it was him - because he wasn't hiding his identity in any way as he wasn't famous back then. It's better if he doesn't know though - I don't want things to be even more awkward then they are. Which, to be honest, at the moment, isn't possible, but I still feel weird around him.

Now I have to go to the living room; Rosé is calling me. We'll be watching a movie now. See you later, journal.
