Chapter 9

Cherie sighed and rubbed the bridge of her nose as she stopped at a traffic light.

‘That was harder than I thought.’ She mumbled. An angry shout from behind her caught her attention and realized the light had turned green. She looked at her rear view mirror and saw a man on a motorbike. A dark blue motorbike to be exact. Can you say déjà vu or what? She rolled her eyes and drove slowly, just to annoy the man behind her. The engine of the bike roared and drove past her not before the man turned to look at her. Those hazel, gray speckled eyes.

‘Are you kidding me?’ She scoffed. Cherie thought she saw a playful glint in his eye but quickly shook it off. She continued driving, turning the next right because it seemed like she was following him and she did not want him to think that.

The next right took her to a small diner. She decided she would go and get a drink to cool and relax her mind for a bit.

As she sat down at a table with her coffee and cookie, she took out some files from her purse and began looking over them. Cherie didn’t feel like going to the office today, she had too many things going on her mind to smile politely at her co-workers. As she was going through them, she heard a familiar deep voice in the diner. She looked up and behold, there was the angry sexy man who shouted at her for not paying attention. She tried to ignore her immediate increased heart rate and scrambled to cover her face with her folders.

‘Oh my gosh. Why is he here? Didn’t he just keep on going?’ she muttered under her breath.

After awhile, she didn’t hear his voice anymore and slowly peeked from her folders only to find him standing there with a mischievous smile.

‘What are you doing?’ He asked.

‘Uhh… what does it look like I’m doing?’

‘Hiding from someone; more like that someone is me.’ He rolled his eyes.

‘No I’m not. I’m just working right now. So as you can see, I’m quite busy so run along’ Cherie said while flicking her hand to the door, signalling to go away.

Blaze looked at her carefully and arched an eyebrow and before turning away, he looked back at her,

‘By the way, like I said before, you have an awful attention span. You cannot drive on roads, I swear.’ He rolled his eyes and walked away.

‘Ass’ she muttered but couldn’t help her sweating palms. What is going on with me? She thought.

Cherie put her folders onto her table and sighed as she blindly tried to fetch her cookie she ordered earlier only to find the plate empty.

‘He did not just take my cookie.’ She fumed. She looked at her plate one more time and slowly breathed out. That fatass did take my cookie.

‘Ass.’ She muttered.

The next day, she was surprised she woke up so late. It was already 1pm. Cherie never slept in this late before. Ugh, half a day spent sleeping. Great, she thought.

She quickly got ready and went into the kitchen to grab a banana to munch on before setting off to go apartment searching.

‘Cherie! You’re finally up! I was deciding if I wanted to let you sleep or pull you by the legs to wake you up. But Skye and I decided to let you sleep, you had an eventful month.’ Elena greeted as she walked into the kitchen.

Cherie didn’t answer but kept on munching on her banana.

‘What are you doing today?’ Elena asked. Once Cherie finished her banana she said,
