•KANDICE•

"Can I open my eyes yet?" I asked, probably for the hundredth time that day.

"No." Dominic said quite calmly, which is weird because if I were him I probably would've been annoyed at that point. "Well, actually, yeah. But hold on. Let me cover your eyes."

"Why won't you let me see where we're going?" I questioned.

"Because it's a surprise, Kandice." Dominic said and I sighed a bit.

"Dom, I just want to know where we're going." I whined.

"You'll see," He said with a slight laugh. "You are the most impatient person I have ever met."

"But you love me." I said jokingly.

"I do." He responded. "Be careful, it's a bit of a step up right here."

"I'm gonna trip." I mumbled and he laughed a bit.

"You're not going to trip." He said.

He was wrong. I tripped.

Dominic laughed a bit and moved his hands from my eyes. "Sorry. We're here."

"Where are we?" I asked as I looked around.

"This is Park Hill." He said and moved so he was standing in front of me. "You wanna get married? Like, actually get married."

"Um." I paused for a moment to think. Would it be a dumb decision to marry him, since I hadn't known him long? Would I regret it in the long run, or would I be glad I did it? It was time for me to start being brave and going after what I want, without caring about the consequences. "Of course."

"What if we got married right now?" He said and I let out a small laugh.

"That's funny." I said and he looked at me with a serious look in his eyes. "Oh. You're not kidding.. Are you?" I asked and he shook his head a bit.

"I'm not kidding."

I took another look around before looking at him again. "There's no one here."

"I know." He said and pulled me a bit closer before wrapping his arms around me. "It's just us."

"Weddings usually have people other than the groom and bride, y'know." I said and he laughed a bit.

"We don't need anyone else."

"But-"

"Can you let me talk for a second?" He asked and I nodded my head.

"Yeah. Sorry."

"One night when we stayed up talking, you told me that whenever you got married, you didn't want a big fancy wedding. You didn't want very many guests, or a big cake, and you didn't want it to be a big deal. You also told me that the thought of wearing a wedding dress kinda freaked you out because you thought you would overheat in one." He said with a slight laugh. "Which, I mean, even if you were wearing one right now, I don't think you would, since it's pretty cold, but."

"Hey, don't underestimate me. I'm extremely hot natured." I said and we both laughed some.

"If you meant all you said, then this would be perfect for you. Not too many people, no fancy cake or dress, no big deals. Just you and me."

"You're right." I said. "But, we don't have rings."

"Oh, we don't?" He said and dug a couple of rings out of his pocket. "Then what are these?"

"Oh my god." I whispered.

"So what do you say?"

"I say let's do this."

So there we stood, just the two of us.. Confessing our love for one another. And to tell you the truth, I couldn't have been happier.
