Yuta:

I felt warm all over. Not from the sun, even though I could feel that burning the back of my neck, but I was warm from the inside. Bone deep. And happy. A smile broke out on my face that stretched so wide my cheeks hurt, but I couldn't tame it. I didn't even want to. Taeyong had actually kissed me. On the lips! My smile dimmed as I realised he probably just did it as a joke. Chances were it would never happen again. I brought my hand up to my lips and touched them carefully. They felt different. Like they were buzzing with energy. I scoffed and shook my head as I got up from the sand. Stop acting like a teenage girl, Yuta. I brushed my legs and went to follow Taeyong.

I watched him wrap some palm leaves around the crab. He had just finished digging a small hole and after he was done wrapping the crab he put it inside the hole and covered it all with a mound of sand. He looked proud of himself as he dusted his hands off.

"What is that?" I nodded my head at the mound. "I just caught it, now you want to bury it?"

"It's a mini oven." He explained. "I threw some embers in there so the heat will cook the meat slowly. It should be done in a while." He sighed and came to sit down on the mattress next to me. I coughed softly and spent some time fiddling with my finger that had now stopped bleeding. The silence was a little awkward. I was too aware that we were saying nothing to each other right now. What was there to say? I hadn't expected him to actually kiss me. I just wanted to mess with him. But now all I could think about was how even with all the salt in the air Taeyong's lips had still been perfectly soft. I coughed louder this time.

"Um... are you going to try the radio again today?" I asked him. When I had told him how to switch everything on, he had gone back alone to figure everything out. When he got back he said that while it had worked, surprisingly, all he could hear on the radio was static.

"Yeah. I don't know if it's even worth it anymore at this point. I can't hear anything. I don't know if anyone can hear me. All I can say is "I'm here!" anyway. I don't even know where here is."

"We should keep trying though. Maybe it will go through one day." I picked at the hem of Taeyong's shorts. I was still glad they fit. I don't think I would have survived much longer in my skinny jeans. Taeyong made a noise as his head dipped back and he looked up at the sky.

"Maybe I should have studied Astrology. If I knew what stars there were here it would help a little, don't you think?" He tilted his head to look at me.

"I think...that you mean Astronomy. For stars. Astrology is horoscopes and stuff." He laughed and scrunched up his nose at me. He looked like a puppy when he did that. Ridiculous. I'd seen him dance before. He was nowhere near as innocent as he seemed.

"Yeah. Astronomy." He lay back on the bed and folded his hands behind his head. "Speaking of studying, how long did it take you to learn Korean anyway?" He asked me.

"Not as long as I thought it would. I might be fluent, but I'm still learning though." I found it funny too that sometimes I thought in Korean instead of Japanese. "You should teach me while we're out here." I followed him and lay back next to him on the bed too.

"Then you should teach me Japanese too." He said.

"Honto?" I answered. It might be fun actually. "That's your first word. It means really."

"Yeah, why not? You can speak to me in Japanese and I can speak to you in Korean." I raised my eyebrow and looked over at him through my arm.

"You already speak to me in Korean..." He stuck out his tongue at me and chuckled as he smacked my arm.
