after his classes ended, seungcheol drove to jinae's school and waited for her in front their building. he was an hour early.

thanks to hana who provided him jinae's schedule for the semester.

seungcheol felt everyone's eyes are on him. in addition to the unfamiliar uniform he had, his good looks was catching everyone's attention. well, he didn't admit but we all know he is.

he tried to ignore them and instead, he focused on jinae's building. is she going out now or not?

he waited a few minutes and surprisingly, he saw her. she was laughing with her friends. but the usual jinae, she was standing behind her friends.

"we won't fit in the hallway if i'll stand beside you all. i'd rather be free behind you." that's what she always tell them.

seungcheol quickly pulled himself up and ran to her. jinae's friend squealed at the sight of the tall young man approaching them. jinae's eyes widened seeing this very familiar guy coming closer.

"what are you doing here?" jinae asked but seungcheol's answer was too irrelative.

"good evening to you, as well, jinae."

"let's just hang out tomorrow, jinae. we won't go on our ice cream date today. we can't go without you." jinae's friend said before bidding good bye.

seungcheol watched her friends leave as jinae watched seungcheol. she can't believe he was there. after months of not talking to him, why did he suddenly appear?

jinae was quick on her shoes and left before she thought seungcheol could notice. but seungcheol saw her and immediately stopped her.

he pulled her to his side and asked, "where do you think are you going?"

"going home?"

"you're going to the practice room with me." he didn't let her speak. he started dragging her, not even asking "have you eaten?", "do you have a lot of works to do?" or simply "are you busy? is it alright for you to go?"

jinae quietly followed and seungcheol just drove the car. she leaned her head on the window while he watched her whatever she does.

seungcheol suddenly spoke, "use the pillow. you'll hurt your neck if you do that." so jinae pulled herself up and held onto the seat belt.

"jerk." she whispered.

the travel was peaceful — or rather intense. both of them were quiet. she didn't have anything to say but he had a lot — he just didn't know where to start.

"where are we?" jinae asked after realizing, "do we have a new practice room?" the parking area was new to her eyes.

they were in a different place. they went to a mall. the door on her side suddenly opened, "are you going to stay there or what?" seungcheol asked.

jinae managed to frown even before going down of his car and quietly followed behind him.

"why don't you walk beside me?" seungcheol asked. jinae glared at him before putting that frown on her face again. "nagger." she whispered. well, it was a bit loud or seungcheol is just great that he managed to hear it. it made him smile, "adorable." he thought.

jinae whined a lot. she complained she had a lot of school works to do and there she is, enjoying the time instead of using it in doing her assignments.

her favorite pasta on the table. the ice cream that he got. none of these helped to flush that frown off of her face.

"long face."

"long??! who has a long face?" jinae questioned with an obvious annoyed face. seungcheol abruptly laughed but soon stopped himself when he saw jinae's expression got worse. "if we're here for you to annoy me, then sorry. i'm leaving first."

he held her hand and uttered, "stop." jinae glared at him making him slightly having the unusual feeling of fear towards her. "i-i mean. no, please stay."

jinae felt the sincerity coming from seungcheol and so, she pulled her hand away from seungcheol's and went back go her seat.

"you still would eat dinner after this?" seungcheol asked as he placed the pasta in front of jinae, telling her to eat.

"are you not going to eat? am i going to eat alone?" jinae asked and seungcheol nodded. "not really hungry yet." he said, trying to stop himself to say cheesy things as "i'm full just by watching you eat".

"fine." she said before finally digging into the pasta. seungcheol smile as he watch her eat, enjoying the food.

she haven't changed at all.

but suddenly, the noise of his phone broke the silence between them two. jinae didn't mind and just continued eating.

"hello?" seungcheol greeted, answering the call. he looked at jinae who didn't even pay him a glance. her attention was on the pasta alone.

"i'm with a friend. why?"

hearing this, jinae lifted her eyes on seungcheol. "he sounded so natural calling me a friend of his. it hurts but i don't have the right to complain because we are really just friends." she thought.

"we'll be heading to the practice room after we eat." seungcheol said. once again, jinae looked at him. she noticed that worry on his face but she couldn't understand. what is he worried for?

"i'm sorry but i can't go. this is so important. can't ditch it." seungcheol said before ending the call.

jinae wiped her lips with a tissue before asking, "girlfriend?"

seungcheol was surprised. when did he get a girlfriend?

"was it nayeon?" she asked and seungcheol quickly shook his head.

"i haven't talked to nayeon since then."

"since then? since when was it?" jinae asked.

"since the day she hurt you."

jinae chuckled. how ridiculous. why would he not talk to her? he was courting her.

"i saw her real personality and so, i thought i wouldn't like a girl like her." suengcheol explained.

"so, you really liked her."

that was a statement, not a question, blurted out by jinae.

seungcheol just sighed and did not speak. whatever he says, jinae would have something to say that would be against it.

"why are we like this, anyway? i thought i fetch her for us to make up?" seungcheol thought. and so, he cleared his mind and focused on one thing.

"so, how was school today?" he started, breaking the ice.

so this chapter was like a filler but yeah, finally they have talked to each other again!
