"are you sure you want to go?"

"i'll go. it's christmas. i'd love to spend it with you guys."

"but seungcheol, you love going out with your friends on christmas. we've celebrated last night, anyway. we're not stopping you to meet them."

his sister keep on insisting him to go to his friends and celebrate the occasion but seungcheol keep on saying he wants to stay. she knew what her brother wants but for the first time, it was convincing that he wants to stay.

seungcheol wiped the table top with rag and fixed the chairs.

"have you greeted jinae?" seungcheol turned his head and looked at his sister who was busy cleaning the dishes. "it's her birthday, right? greet her for me, too."

"i don't want to greet her."

"don't want?" his sister repeated, emphasizing on each word. "how come—"

"just wanted not to do it anymore." seungcheol said.

"you're friends, right? you should greet her."

"they've already greeted her. there won't be much difference if i greet her or not. a lot of people greets her anyway."

his sister fished out his phone from his pocket and unlocked it. "what are you doing?" seungcheol tried to snatch his phone away but his sister easily dodged his hand.

"i'll greet her myself if you don't want to." she quickly opened the messaging app and looked for her name. she scrolled, and scrolled the list on his inbox.

"oh?" she failed. she didn't see jinae' name.

"quit looking for jinae's name."

she glared at him and pulled her brother's ear. "whatever. i'll greet her myself, then."

seungcheol took his phone and opened an app.

his attention was caught by that post. though it was only a photo of her. he was tagged.

seungcheol had too many confusing emotions rushing in. excited to see her face once again. happy to see she's having a good time. and hurting she's not spending it with him but with another man.
