"thank you." jinae said when insoo helped her sit down.

"no worries, baby jinae."

"jinae!" hana and minah squealed as they hugged jinae tightly.

"long time no see!" minah said.

"thank you eunwoo for bringing her." hana said.

"luckily jia allowed me to bring jinae with me. i thought she won't let me."

hana laughed, "who is she to stop jinae from going out? it's not like she's ill or going to die if she goes out."

"where's seungcheol?" myungsoo asked as he placed down glasses of ice cream they have  ordered.

"there he is! speaking of the —" jason hit insoo's shoulder to stop him.

"hi guys!" seungcheol greeted as have the boys a fist bump, and the girls a simple smile.

but that smile didn't last. it faded as his eyes landed on jinae.

"oh hey! who is this girl?" jason asked. "have we met before?"

"danbi! i'm danbi. i came with seungcheol last time you guys gathered. was it in january?"

"ah! seungcheol's girlfriend?" jason said after remembering her.

"yes, that's me. unless he called another woman to come with him." she said making fun of seungcheol.

seungcheol nervously smiled before he helped danbi sit down.

"sorry. we've ordered ice cream for ourselves. you should order for you." insoo told seungcheol.

"we're late. it's fine." seungcheol before leaving the table and let danbi stay.

"so, you and seungcheol have been dating for?"

"well, we've lost count of it. i don't know how long has it already been." danbi said. frankly speaking, the two didn't know how and when exactly they started dating.

as if it was one day they started treating each other as if they are a couple and telling one another "i love you's".

"oh, jinae?" danbi said when she saw her across the table. "how are you doing? never heard about you since the last time we saw you."

"i-i'm fine. last time? i don't remember that, though. sorry."

"it's alright. we just briefly talked. greeted just like that."

"sorry about that. i should have fetched her from seungcheol's house. it must have took your time together when he walked her home."

"no, it's fine. seungcheol insisted to bring her home anyway. i couldn't do anything about that." danbi said, faking a smile.

"of course. jinae's important to seungcheol. he would volunteer to walk her home." hana said, butting in to their conversation.

"i wonder how important she could be more than i do. i'm the girlfriend. he would—"

"enough. this talk is going somewhere it shouldn't be." minah said, stopping them from spitting words that would worsen the situation.

"w-what's happening?"

seungcheol was standing a foot away from their table. he heard what they were saying. he could feel the atmosphere changed.

"ah. n-nothing. it's—"

"is the way you treat your friend's girlfriend?" he asked with his voice sounding so firm.

he placed the tray down on the table and looked st everyone. "i've never seen you guys behaving like this. can't believe hearing those from you."
