"that professor was funny! she thought i was really sleeping but no, i just closed my eyes. i was still listening to her." insoo proudly said.

"whatever." hana said shoving fries into his mouth as the others laughed.

"yah!" he yelled with his mouth full of cheese-flavored fries.

jinae tapped eunwoo's shoulders and asked him to give insoo a tissue roll. "too dirty." she mouthed which eunwoo agreed to.

they were all laughing at insoo and hana bickering at the side of the table, but jinae's eyes were caught by seungcheol who's busy with his phone.

"who is he chatting to?" eunwoo asked, whispering to jinae. she was surprised, making her pull her head back away from him.

"sorry." eunwoo uttered but jinae just smiled at him. "so, you have an idea who he's talking to?" jinae shrugged her shoulders and checked her phone. "not you?" eunwoo asked and jinae nodded.

she brushed it off thinking, it might be from his classmates.

she doesn't have the right to be jealous because they are just friends.

"we got double cheese pizza and burgers. iced tea for everyone." hana said as she and insoo distributed them to everyone. but she noticed, "where's seungcheol?"

"excused himself." eunwoo said and pointed secretly at jinae who was busy with the food.

did she even care or was just focusing on the food.

food is life.

they savoured the food, enjoying their time as well away from those papers. away from stress.

suddenly, myungsoo choked on his food. soojung gave him a glass of iced tea. "s-seungcheol... seungcheol's outside." he uttered.

"we know. you idiot." soojung said.

"no, i mean he's outside with someone." he cleared out.

their eyes all went towards the door. and there, they saw him chatting with this girl they have seen for the first time. being the gentleman he is, he opened the door for the lady. they were laughing.

they surely are breaking her heart.

"hey!" seungcheol greeted. "i'm back." he said as he scanned the place. he noticed there's no enough chair for this lady with him and so he pulled an extra chair himself.

"won't you introduce me to your friends?" the lady said.

"oh yes." seungcheol chuckled and apologized to her. "guys, this is danbi. she's my classmate in physics and my groupmate in one project too. we'll be going to jeonghan's house after this so i told her to meet me here. we'll go together."

"seungcheol? what about jinae?" hana asked but jinae tried to stop her. "you didn't tell us you have other plans."

seungcheol massaged his forehead. "i forgot. sorry."

"oh, sorry. i texted him just a while ago so maybe that's why he didn't get the chance to inform you." danbi said. she sounded sincere.

maybe, she's nice. not like nayeon.

but that means, bigger chance that seungcheol will like her.

jinae naturally smiled and told them, "don't worry. hana's here to give me a ride."

hana did not have a choice but just agree.

"they're going on a date, jinae. i'll drive you home instead."

jinae's face brightened. "really?" she asked and eunwoo nodded. "thanks!"

after that, nobody talked anymore. they were just staring at the food on the table. until hana nudged insoo.

"so, let's eat! it's been a while since we had our last heavy meal together, right?" myungsoo laughed and went along with insoo. they just suddenly felt awkward.

danbi seemed nice. but why can't they learn to like her?

is it because surprisingly, seungcheol's actions towards her seemed similar to how he is towards jinae?
