I checked my alarm clock once again. I believe I have been glaring at Caroline for half an hour now, ever since I found out what the gorgeous vampire was wearing...and I was not impressed.
Caroline is wearing a very formal black, pencil skirt to the knees, a blouse tucked into the skirt, a tight blazer and a brooch which held the crest of the famiy. I didn't like the idea of her wearing something so easy and relaxed when I had to wear this freaking ball gown with a stupid split down the side.
Again, I am not impressed.
"This is bullshit," I groaned. "How come you have to wear that and I have to wear this?"
"Because guests have to look absolutely amazing and royalty has to look both amazing, powerful and professional," she answered tustling her perfect hair before turning to me. "As I have told you."
"But it's not fair." My shoulders slumped and I looked across the room at the door wondering how quick I could get to it and make a run for it.
"Don't you even think about it," Caroline warned. "Besides, you'll have heaps of fun staring at Vincent."
My cheeks blushed pink. "I will not."
"Of course you won't," she winked. "Just like I won't be staring at the newborn hottie."
"Tell me about him!"
"I can't be bothered, but I will tell you this: he is mine!"
I held up my hands with a knowing smirk. "Don't worry I already have my hands full."
"So you admit it!" she squealed.
I shut my eyes and covered my ears. "Quieten down, woman, I don't want to become deaf and murdered in the same night."
"So you admit it," she said quietly.
"Well, you already know."
"Yeah but it sounds so much more exciting when it hear it from your mouth." She gave a small squeal and twirled. "Happy days."
"Don't we have to go or something?"
"Woman are fashionably late."
"Yes and we are already fifteen minutes late."
"Perfect," she smiled. "We'll just wait fifteen minutes more."
"You're joking."
"No but we can go if you want."
"Might as well get it over and done with."
"You don't seem very happy hanging out with me," Caroline pouted.
"Its not you," I smiled sadly. "Its your father, and then your mother and then those new vampires we're going to meet tonight. I'm human, its exhausting enough on the system to know I'm held hostage by vampires." She nodded her head. "I guess i just have to get used to it."
"Wait, are you a vigin?"
I froze midstep. "Well that was...awkward. Yeah, you know I am." My brows furrowed. "What's up?"
"Okay, don't cut yourself or anything because virgin blood is a lot more appealing to vampires than you could believe."
I grimaced. "So if I--"
