JENNIFER ANN WOODLEY

•IZZY'S POV•

"How did you two meet?" Jason asked Jack and Jenna.

Jenna blushed and looked up at Jack.

"Jack saved my life" Jenna told us. So this was the girl that Jack saved yesterday.

"Oh." Jason said.

Silence erupted like a volcano.

Although technically silence can't erupt. Certainly not like a volcano, that would be loud, not silent.

I coughed to break the tension. It didn't work.

"So this is the famous Jenna." I said, trying to smile, laugh or do something so that I wouldn't cry.

"It looks like it." Jenna said smiling back at me.

It sucked that she seemed really nice, it made it near impossible to dislike her. But then Jason would never fall for someone who wasn't nice.

"Care to elaborate Jay?" Jack asked, he had never heard about Jason and Jenna before.

"You know how I lived in California?" Jason started.

Jack nodded.

"And you know how I fell in love with a girl when I was there?" He continued fumbling awkwardly with the straps on his bag.

"Yes." Jack said warily.

"Well, here she is." Jason feebly attempted to smile.

I didn't want to assume anything. I didn't want to be that cliche girlfriend who ran away at the thought of her boyfriends' ex coming to steal him away from her. No, I didn't want to be the cliche girl who got mad at him even though he had no idea, even though he didn't ask for his ex to show up.

So I just smiled.

"Well this is awkward, so I'm going to take Jenna and show her around." Jack stated, putting his hand on her back and leading her away from Jason and I.

We stood there in the deafening silence.

"Look..." We both said at the same time.

I pointed to him, "you first"

He nodded, swallowing nervously. "Listen, I'm not going to lie, I haven't completely gotten over Jenna, and I probably never will. Some part of me will always be tied to her. But I'm not lying when I say this. Izzy, you are the best thing that has happened to me since I got here. And I don't want to lose you. Not to someone I loved and lost a lifetime ago."

"Jason, I was just going to say that I didn't mind Jenna being here because she seems nice and as long as neither of you try anything then I will be fine. We will be fine."

He smiled and gave me a kiss on my forehead, "I promise I won't do anything to purposely hurt you as long as we're together, and even after that."

I smiled as he pulled me closer to wrap his arms around me. I rested my head against his chest and closed my eyes.

We didn't move, not even when the bell rang. We didn't move when a group of teenagers stormed past us or when a teacher told us to hurry up.

I could've stayed like that in his arms forever if he had let me. But the second bell was about to ring so he pulled away slowly.

"I've got Advanced Maths, you've got History, so I'll see you in Chemistry." He said, I wasn't surprised that he knew my timetable, I knew his as well.
