•JENNA'S POV•
I was excited. Not because my brother had arrived back from his holiday and I was finally going to meet his girlfriend or because Jack had promised to take me to a fair and win me a huge teddy bear from a stall.
I was excited because Lucy had organised a girls night in for me, Izzy and herself. We had banned the boys from Lucy's house for that night so we could have a good time without them getting in the way.
Not that they ever got in the way, but if they came we'd be watching horror movies (which none of us girls enjoyed) and playing video games (Lucy could beat the boys in most of the games).
We had decided to organise a night out with them for later on in the week. That seemed to satisfy them. Jack was learning how to drive when I left his house this morning, luckily he hadn't driven into anything yet.
I walked up to Lucy's door, two shopping bags in one hand and my phone in the other. A face peered through the blinds in the living room and then retreated. There was a scuffling noise and a crash from the hall.
Lucy swung the door open forcefully with a smile on her face. "Hey Jenna, welcome to the funhouse!"
"Where do I put the food?" I asked as I stepped into the wide hallway, gigling slighty at her unusual greeting.
"Over here." She motioned to the table where a pile of sweets, chocolates and crisps already lay waiting.
"So," I asked, "what are we watching?"
Izzy skidded into the room and answered before lucy could wrap her head around the question. "Mean Girls of course!"
I frowned at the unfamiliar title, "Mean Girls?"
"You haven't heard of Mean Girls?" They said at the same time, confused frowns etched upon their faces.
"No, never." I confessed, they explained that everyone should know what Mean Girls is and should be able to recite the lines off by heart.
Izzy put in the DVD and turned the lights so low that I could barely see my drink, my popcorn seemed to glow though.
Every time I tried to ask a question I would be met with a series of "Be quiet.", "This is the best bit" or just a loud "shush."
Once the movie had finished I wondered why everyone was so fussed with it, sure it taught us a lesson about school and what people will do to fit in and stay in, but all that I learnt was that jeans or track pants were only allowed on Fridays, you couldn't wear a tank top two days in a row, you had to wear pink on Wednesdays, ponytails were only allowed once a week and if these rules weren't followed then "You can't sit with us".
I found myself laughing quietly, imagining if the boys had to follow these rules too. Which would only be fair.
It was just past 11pm when I arrived home, I crept up the stairs and into my bedroom, dumping my stuff on the floor.
My brother's light was still on but I didn't want to disturb him since his girlfriend would probably be there too and I'd rather meet her when my hair was actually brushed.
I clambered into my bed and sleep took over quickly.

The next morning I lay in bed until around 10 in the morning. No one came to bother me like they usually did if I wasn't down by 9.
Needless to say I took full advantage of my time in bed to think about things normally reserved for the shower.
What was the meaning of life? How was the universe created? If God made us all, where did he come from? Or was he always here?
I giggled quietly to myself, my thoughts wandering around to explore every possibility of a bigger purpose in this life.
A knock on the door cancelled out my thoughts.
"Come in." I called, the door opened and Max stepped in with a pretty girl next to him.
"Jenna, this is Hayley, my girlfriend." Max said as Hayley came and shook my hand.
"Hi Jenna, I've heard a lot about you from Max." Hayley said and once she saw my mortified face she quickly added, "All good things."
"Thanks Max." I said sarcastically. "Hi Hayley, my brother is infatuated with you. I'm sure you can tell."
Hayley laughed, "he is a sweet boy. With a beautiful sister."
I like her already.

That was a way shorter chapter than any of you guys deserve. For that I am very sorry.
Some good/bad news, depending on how you look at it, is that there is about 1 or 2 chapters left and then it's the epilogue.
So thanks for sticking through my writers block these two or three weeks. Right now I think I'm just writing for the sake of continuing the story so I need to think of some specifics to finish up.
