•Epilogue: Izzy's POV•

SIX YEARS LATER (24 years old)

"Just open it."

I glanced at Jason warily, the last time he had given me a present to open a bird had flown out of it and landed on my head. It then proceeded to chirp its head off and it wouldn't leave me. It was a pretty traumatic experience if you ask me.

"Come on Izzy, I promise you'll love it." Jason gave me his award winning, twinkling smile and gestured towards the box that laid on my lap, "Go on."

I frowned weighing up my options and sighing as I gave in, "alright."

Curiosity seemed to have won me over.

Curiosity killed the cat.

Not now. I told my conscious as I slowly unwrapped the present. It was a big plain cardboard box, I looked down at Jason who was still smiling at me like a school boy from where he sat on the floor.

"Look inside it." He ordered.

So I did. Another wrapped present laid inside it. I unwrapped that one, another box, another present. I started to think that this was meant to be pass the parcel. One after the other I opened the presents putting them on the couch beside me until a small wrapped present remained.

I held it in my hand, perhaps he had gotten me the necklace that I had pointed out in the store yesterday, or the bracelet that I had asked for last Christmas.

Before I could start to unwrap it, Jason took it from me and ripped off the red and gold wrapping paper.

"Impatient." I muttered under my breath and if Jason had heard me, he didn't say anything.

"Stand up please." Jason instructed as he also stood up from the ground.

I obliged and rose from the couch, "what is it?" I asked.

"You'll see." He replied and taking a lungful of air he got down on one knee.

I gasped.

"Izzy, I love you. I have loved you from the moment you ran away from me after school and into the woods. A very good friend of mine once told me, a long time ago, that some people in life are worth risking everything for and if you find that someone you'd better do everything to get her, because although it may be a rough journey, the destination is worth it. Jack said that if I believed in my goal and trusted my heart over my head, then anything would be possible."

I smiled to myself from behind my hand that covered my mouth, that was such a Jack thing to say.

"So I'll say it again and I want to say it for the rest of my life. I love you" Jason said it without uncertainty and with all of his heart. "I have loved you from the start and I'll love you until the end. I just hope that you'll love me back." He took a deep breath.

"So Izzy I have on question to ask, will you marry me?"

"Yes, yes, yes!" I said with tears running down my face as Jason pulled me into a hug. He placed his lips against mine and we stood there lost in each others embrace. We pulled away, the smile on his face mirrored mine.

"She said yes!" Jason shouted triumphantly.

Jack and Jenna ran out from behind the couch, Jack with a camera in his hand that he had obviously used to record the event. Cody and Lucy barged into the room and everyone started clapping and cheering.

"Congratulations." Cody whispered in my ear as he gave my a hug. He stepped back and pulled Lucy back to his chest, winking at me.

They were my favourite couple, even after seven years together and two years of being married their spark hadn't left them.

"Lisa and the others send their congratulations and they're sorry that they can't be here." Jason said, reading from his phone.

"Best day ever." I announced. "I just want to run down the street in this dress without shoes yelling I'm engaged to the most handsome guy in the universe."

"No one is stopping you." Jack remarked looking out the window.

"But I'm afraid Jack is the most hadsome guy in the universe." Jenna said, snaking an arm around Jack's waist.

We all laughed and Jason pulled me into another tight embrace.

"Forever is ours now." He whispered, leaning closer towards me.

Forever. I liked the sound of that.
