"Maia. let's go." my brother yelled. I pulled at my hair in frustration. They were not cooperating this morning. I mean why. I grew them. I shampoo them. I take care of them. ok last part isn't entirely true but still. I left them alone and grabbed my phone as I rushed downstairs.
"I am leaving daddy" I said as I tried to open my MnM packet.
"Maia. Paul called, it's ready"
"What!?" the pack in my hand tore open and MnMs went everywhere.
"Darling you spilled your candies"
"Forget them. Is it really ready?"
I wanted to savour this moment.
It was single most happy moment of my life.
I'll remember my father's smile. I'll remember my pounding heart. I'll remember every breath and every sound.
Honk.
Honk. honk.
I'll remember my brother and how I killed him that day.
Asshole ruined my moment.
"Don't you dare joke on this old man" I said looking in his eyes to see if he was playing with me.
"It's really ready. Bring it straight home and remember your promise." he smiled as he took another sip of his coffee.
"I will. I will. God, I love you so much" I jumped to hug him and knowing me he quickly set his coffee mug down seconds before I tackled him.
Honk. honk.
"Now go before your brother is arrested for causing noise pollution"
"He should be arrested for being born."
"Bye darling" he said in a serious warning tone.
"Bye daddy" I said in a same serious warning tone.
"Calm down Minerva. I am here" I yelled at my imbecile of a brother.
"I had to meet Natasha and now I am late" he whined but I as usual ignore.
"Jace. it's ready!!" I screamed as I entered his challenger or as he refers her 'her royal highness'. Boys and their toys, I swear.
*photo of her royal highness*
"Oh shit." he slammed his head on steering wheel.
"I need to swing by Paul's before heading home. So, schedule your hook up accordingly." I informed him as I hastily threw in my bag over the back seat and put my feet up the dash.
"Put your stinking feet down. Treat my baby with respect"
I just rolled my eyes and opened another pack of MnMs that I found in my pocket.
