It was pretty dark outside when Gavin finally finished work and came outside to find Conan already there, waiting for him beside the car.

"How the hell did you get here so fast."

Conan winks.

Gavin sputters.

"Are you just going answer every question with a wink?"

Conan grins daringly.

Gavin's eyes widen in realization of what he has just done.

"Oh don't you dare-"

Conan winked.

"Damn it!"

"You should choose your words more carefully, Gavin."

"Yeah, fuck you. Just get in the car."

Gavin walks up to his car but Conan didn't seem to budge.

"Hey! You having a malfunction? I said get in the car!"

"Did you know that I can run as fast as eighty miles per hour?"

Gavin snaps his head to Conan.

"No fucking way."

"Would you like to make a bet? Ten dollars perhaps."

"Fuck Yeah!"

This bet ends up with Gavin speeding over his limit that he stopped by one of his coworkers who happened to be around. He is only lectured to not do this again.

Gavin gets back in his car now with Conan sitting beside him across the driver's seat. Conan is giving him the most smug smile of all time. Gavin grudgingly takes out his wallet to give Conan ten dollars in coins even though he had a ten dollar bill since he was bitter about losing.

"Wait. So that time you carried me to my car because you didn't have a ride-"

"I never said I didn't have a ride."

"Oh fuck you."

They both laugh on their way to Gavin's house.

Gavin lived in a small house. He couldn't afford a big one and he didn't really need one either since he never had anyone over. Well... besides now.

The only reason why he even lived in a house was because he used to live with other roommates but they all moved out and he was too lazy to move somewhere else. Plus, he kinda got attached to the house. It brought nostalgia. The house reflected Gavin in a way.

The house was very simple and really nothing to look at but Conan seemed very intrigued by it.

As they entered the house and the lights turned on, it revealed a kitchen full of dirty dishes, an old couch, and a staircase that leads up to an even messier bedroom.

"So yeah... this is the Reed home. Beautiful, I know." Gavin joked as he slumped to his couch. Conan sat down beside him.

"So..."

"What?"

"My purpose of being here."

"Oh, right."

If Gavin was being honest. He himself wasn't really sure why he had to invite Conan to his home to tell Conan about his past. Yes, he was way more comfortable and felt more secure in his house but inviting people to his home just to talk wasn't really Gavin's thing. He admits it always felt lonely when he was at home so maybe it was because he was just that desperate to feel some sort of closure, even if it was fake.

Conan wasn't here because he liked being with Gavin, he was just curious of what Gavin had to say. Conan just found Gavin interesting enough to be around. That's all.
