"Alright were done"
I say to my daughter and son placing the last box on the ground
My son runs to me
While my daughter title her head
"Where daddy stuff"
"He not moving with us"
"Why not"
Because it was a toxic relationship but how do I explain that to a 5-year-old and 2-year-old
My son looks up at me hugging my legs
I rub his head
"Because mommy doesn't want him too"
"Why not"
"Because...Just because, alright mija"
"Oh okay"
She says stomping away
"Stupid grown up"
I sigh looking down at my son
Who buries his head in my legs
Rubbing his head he muzzles his head into my legs
"Let's go talk to your sister"
I pick him up and walk to an empty room that'll soon be my daughter's
"I don't understand"
She cries in her hands
"I know baby"
"Just stay with daddy"
"You'll still see him"
"But not happy"
"He'll probably be happy"
"No me"
"You will too"
"No"
"How do you know"
"Because to be happy family mommies and daddies are together"
"Where did you learn that"
"Tv"
"No mija tv fake"
"What its fake"
"Yes the show isn't real"
I watch her little mind get a blowed
"Come on let's get unpacking"
She shakes her head
"I want daddy"
"Well he not coming"
I yell
She looks stand back and runs away crying
"Down"
My son says quietly
I set him down and then he walks away to my daughter direction
I follow behind
One slowly step at a time
"Taking your sweet time"
My son turns around looks at me strangely I guess he trying to understand what I said then continues to walk the slow 2-year-old waddle
When we finally get to the living room where my daughter is at playing with a doll till she sees me when she gets up and walks away
"Cali"
I call her name as it now time for dinner
"Playing with my friend"
Talking about her imagery friend
"Well tell Mika she can join us for dinner too"
"Okay"
I walk over to Franklin who watching t.v. on an empty screen
The imagination kids have amazed me
