I pushed open the door and walked into the little café, looking around. I sat down at a small table in the back and checked the time. I was a little too early.
“Hello, what can I get for you?“ a waitress asked me.
“Uh, I'm waiting for someone.“
“Okay, tell me when you're ready to order.“ She smiled and walked away.
“Did she just quote my lyrics?“ someone chuckled behind me.
“Hi Shawn!“ I smiled and turned around to hug him before he sat down at the table.
“How are you? How's your family so far?“
“Everything is perfect. I'm so happy to be here.“
“I'm happy to hear that! Do you already know what to order?“ Shawn changed the topic and looked at me.
“I'll probably just take a hot chocolate.“
“You definitely should take a muffin! They have the best muffins in the world!“
“Well then, who can say no to muffins?“ I agreed and Shawn grinned at me before the waitress approached our table again.
“Hello, can we get a coffee, hot chocolate and two muffins please?“ Shawn ordered and the girl wrote everything down before dissappearing behind the counter. Just a moment later she came back and placed our food on the table.
“Okay let's see how good that muffin really is.“ I grabbed it and smiled before I took a bite from it. Wow. It really was good!
“Okay you're right, this is the best!“
“Told you!“ Shawn answered, his mouth full as he took a big bite of his muffin. I tried not to laugh because he looked like a chipmunk.
“You know, I came here a lot after school. Before all of my career started. I was hanging out with friends and did homework. Later on I started coming alone. I wrote a lot of songs here. I think the last time I was here was almost a year ago.“ Shawn explained. He continued talking until he spotted something behind me.
“Can you please excuse me for a second?“
“Yeah, sure.“ I nodded and he slowly stood up and walked away. I looked after him and found him walking up to a group of girls. They were whispering and one of them had Shawn's merch. I watched Shawn talking to his fans before he hugged and took photos with all of them. Then they slowy walked out of the café and Shawn came back to our table.
“Sorry about that.“
“Don't be sorry. They're your fans. You should be sorry if you didn't took photos with them.“ I said and he chuckled lightly. We finished our drinks and as I was about to get out my money Shawn had already paid.
“Why did you do this?“
“What?“
“Paying for me.“
“You're welcome.“
“No, I don't want you to pay for me. Let me give you the money.“ I glared at him and opened my bag.
“Are you serious about that?“ he watched me amused.
“Yes!“
“Well what if I don't want it?“
“Then I will pay for yours next time.“ I crossed my arms over my chest, trying to look angry what was really hard because he just looked adorable.
“So there will be a next time?“ Shawn smirked at me. I rolled my eyes and playfully hit his arm. We walked back to Shawn's Jeep and got in.
“Where to now?“ Shawn asked.
“Uh, I don't know. I have been here for only a few days.“
“Okay I've got an idea. Let's go.“
