The next days went by really fast and I spent them almost the whole time with the kids. We were getting along pretty well and had a lot of fun during the days. But also Shawn and I kept in contact. He had a few things to do but we were texting all the time and even facetimed last night. It felt nice to have a friend around you while you're alone in a foreign country hundrets of miles away from your home. A friend, yes, that's what Shawn is to me. I never thought that would happen but here I am. And we grew closer with every text we sent or laugh we shared.

It was now monday morning and I was getting ready for my first day of work. During the past week I almost forgot why I was here. But now I was excited what today would bring.

I walked downstairs and met Tom and Bethany in the kitchen. Tom was reading the newspaper and Bethany was making some coffee.

"Good morning." I greeted.

"Good morning." They smiled at me.

"Breakfast is almost ready. Can you please get the kids from upstairs?"

"Sure." I walked out of the kitchen and back up the stairs. I arrived at the door of the twins room and knocked on the door before I opened it and stepped inside.

"Hey you two. Are you already awake?"

"Yesss I am!" Sky grinned at me as Ben grumbled something before turning around in his bed.

"That's great. Ben, what about you? Ready to get up?" I ruffled his hair lightly before he opened his eyes and looked at me.

"You mom is making breakfast for you!" with that Ben stood up and ran to the door, Sky following behind. They always had breakfast in their pajamas so I let them go. I went to Vivian's room and knoxked softly onto the door. She was still sleeping so I sat down on the edge of the bed.

"Vivi?" I stroke her arm, trying to wake her up.

"Hey, Vivi, wake up. Breakfast is ready."

"Huh?" she rubbed her eyes and slowly sat up.

"Your mom is waiting for you downstairs."

"Can you please pick my outfit for today?" She asked me.

"Of course. Let me see, what we can find in your closet." I opened it and looked through it before I pulled out a cute dress.

"What about that?"

"Yess I wanna wear that today!"

"Do you need help with changing?"

"No, I'm big enough to do it myself!"

"Okay!" I laughed and she grinned at me.

"We will wait for you in the kitchen." I walked out as she changed and got ready by herself.

During breakfast Bethany started to show me my schedule.

"Okay so, your job is to take care of the kids. That means, after breakfast you will drive them to school and pick them up after it. During the time they're away you're free. After school you have to make dinner for them and take care of them until I'm home from work. You can also drive somewhere with them if you like. The evening is free for you, but we would love to have dinner all together. The weekends are yours except we need your help. I think that will be all."

I nodded and smiled at her. I actually was surprised that I had so much time for myself. I often heard about au-pairs that had almost no free time because of busy or stressful schedules.

We finished our breakfast and I helped Bethany getting the dishes in the dishwasher. Then we walked out to the car to drive Vivian to school and the twins to kindergarten. Bethany showed me the way and after we dropped them off we drove back home.

As we arrived home I got a text message and looked at my phone.

Shawn: 'you're free tomorrow?'
