It's been a few weeks since Shawn and I have been ice skating. Christmas was over and it was new years eve today. The whole city was covered in a soft white blanket of snow, making it look so magical and peaceful. I loved it here.

Shawn and I have been getting closer with every day passing, although we haven't seen each other for quite a while. After he came home last week I had met almost his whole crew. I had already met his family and some of his friends. They were all amazing and I was so happy to be a part of it now.

However, Shawn's best friend Brian was throwing a new year's party and he invited me as well. We had also become really good friends over the time I had been in Canada already.

I looked at the dress in my hands that I had bought for tonight. It was a beautiful dark blue, almost black with a little sparkling highlights at the chest area. It was hugging my body softly before flowing down to the ground. For the first time I felt beautiful. I didn't want to put any make-up on and my hair was just falling over my shoulders freely.

I quickly gathered my things together and put on my shoes once I noticed it was time for me to go.

I took the bus to Shawn's apartment since I would stay over tonight after the party. The ride was a little longer than usual because of traffic so I was running a bit late when I finally arrived.

"There you are, I was worried that something happened!" Shawn said as he opened the front door and let me in.

"I'm sorry, the bus was stuck in traffic!" I explained and quickly hugged him hello.

"Are you ready to go?" He asked and I nodded in response. I dropped off my overnight bag by the door while he grabbed his phone and keys, then we left the condo. In front of the building we waited for the uber that Shawn had ordered.

"Have I told you already how beautiful you look tonight?" Shawn broke the silence after a few seconds.

"Uhh-"

"Yeah, you look absolutely gorgeous, princess!" I blushed at his comments and turned my head to the side a little, trying to hide my red cheeks.

"I can see you blushing, you know." Shawn nudged my shoulder playfully and I laughed.

Before we could say anything a car pulled up and stopped right in front of us. Shawn quickly stepped forward and, like the gentleman he was, opened the door for me and helped me get into the car, being careful with my dress. I thanked him smiling before he shut the door and ran around the car, getting in himself.

He told the driver the address of the location and then leaned back into his seat, smiling over at me. I smiled back before I shifted my gaze onto the buildings that flew by outside the car window.

We arrived and Shawn quickly paid the driver before he drove away again. He took my hand in his and led me into the building. We took the elevator to the very top where the party was held.

I gasped as we arrived. We were at a rented apartment or club thingy with a beautiful balcony that overlooked the whole city. I kinda was used to that view already since Shawn's condo had a similar view but that didn't stop me from being blown away every time I saw it.

"Hey Shawn! Leia! So glad you could make it!" I heard the voice of Shawn's best friend behind me so I pulled my eyes away from the windows to look at the boys.

"Hey Brian, so good to see you!" I smiled and hugged him after Shawn had let go of him.

"Drinks are in the kitchen, bathroom is down the floor on the left and if you have a special wish for a song just let Mason, who's over there know!" he pointed at a guy that I didn't knew before he left to greet some other people.

"Do you want something to drink?" Shawn asked me.

"Just a water, please."

"You sure?"

"We just arrived! And you know I don't like alcohol that much. It's still a few hours until midnight anyway so I will definitely get something to drink tonight." I laughed.

"I'll be back! Wait here, okay?" he chuckled and I nodded my head yes before he walked away.

"Oh, hey Leia!" I jumped lightly as I heard someone say my name but it was just another of Shawn's friends, Matt so I calmed down again. We talked for a while until Shawn came back, two cups in his hands. He handed me my drink and then greeted Matt who was standing next to me.

"Hey man, so great to see you!" they did this bro-hug-thing and started a conversation while I stood next to them awkwardly.

"Hey, wanna dance?" Brian suddenly stood beside me and I smiled at him, throwing a last glance over to Shawn before I disappeared onto the dance floor in the living room with Brian.

The loud music roared inside my ears as I jumped around to the fast beat although I didn't knew the song that was playing.

"So, you and Shawn eh?" Brian screamed into my direction, trying to drown out the noises around us.

"What about us?" I yelled back at him.

"Are you two finally dating?"
