Before the meeting

It's been a few hours and Ivy and I have been just messing around (Not like that you dirty people!). We've been trying not to think too much about the meeting, but now that we have to go to it in just an hour, things are a bit more serious.

"Who's gonna pick up the kids?" Ivy asked.

"I've got Bet and Jack to pick them up," I said as I got dressed into something a bit more professional than ripped jeans and an old ripped up t-shirt with a bunch of stains on it.

"Okay. Thanks," Ivy said as she put her hair into a high ponytail.

"No problem, babe," I said with a grin.

We both checked to see if we got everything we needed and then got out of the house and shifted into our wolf form.

💎Ivy💎

Whilst we were running to the pack house-- where the meeting is supposed to take place-- I felt myself becoming more nervous.

Brooklyn nudged me with his head and gave me the look that everything will be okay.

"It'll be okay, Ivy. Our mate, myself, and the pack will all be there for you," Silver said reassuringly in her soft and slightly deep voice.

"I know. But I'm still nervous."

"If you need me to take over at anytime, just let me know," She said.

"Okay. Thanks."

I felt a little better, knowing that Silver would help me if I needed it. And I know for sure that Brooklyn wouldn't hesitate to interfere if Jacob tried to talk to me.

"Are you ready to go in?" Brooklyn asked as we finished putting on our clothes that we carried with us.

"I guess," I said, not exactly sure if I really was ready.

"They're most likely not here yet, so it should be fine," Brooklyn said as he grabbed my hand and gave it a gentle squeeze.

"Okay," I breathed out before we walked in.

"Hello, Alpha Brooklyn and Luna Ivy," Silus greeted with a welcoming smile.

"Hey, Silus," I said back with a small smile.

"The other pack isn't here yet, but your brother came over to check up on you before they get here," He informed.

"Okay. Thank you." I gave a curt nod before walking to the kitchen, knowing that if Mikey wasn't in the living room then he'd most likely be in there.

"Hey, Mike," I greeted as I saw him talking to Martina.

"Hey, Iv. Hey Brook." He smiled at us both.

"Hey, Luna and Alpha." Martina smiled at us.

I smiled back at her and gave her a quick hug before she walked away to give us more privacy.

"So, I heard that you wanted to talk to me," I stated.

"Yeah. I just wanted to make sure that you would be okay before...you know," He said.

"Yeah, I'm sure I'll be fine," I said.

"I won't let him too close to her," Brooklyn said as wrapped his arm around my waist from behind and pulled me to his muscular chest.

"I know. I just wanted to make sure. And if you ever need my help, just mind-link me," Mikey said, being the overprotective brother he is.

"I know. But you should probably get back to Andy. He probably misses you," I commented with a smirk.

"Shut up," He chuckled. "But I probably should go now. Tell me when the meeting is done. I love you. And Brook, take good care of her." He hugged back of us before walking out.

"Are you sure you'll be okay? I could just go to the meeting and you could go upstairs with Lauretta," Brooklyn said, sounding like he was hoping I'd say that I wanted to do that instead.

"No. It's okay. I'll be fine," I said with a reassuring smile.

"Are you sure?" He asked again.

"Yes, Brook. I'll be fine."

He stared at me for a few seconds before nodding and kissing me gently.

"Hey guys!" Crystal exclaimed as she walked into the kitchen.

"Hey, Crystal. How are you?" I asked.

"I'm good. A bit bored, though," She said.

"Of course you are." I laughed.

Then I heard a loud knock on the door and my laughed immediately stopped and the whole mansion became silenced.

I heard the door being opened by one of the pack members and heard the familiar voice of Joel telling the people-- who I'm guessing is the other pack-- to come in.

"Crystal, you should go find your mother now," I said. Although she was older now, I still thought of her as the same innocent child that I first met and I want to protect her from getting hurt. I don't know who exactly these people are and if they have anything against us, or if they want to cause us harm in anyway.

"Okay," Crystal said with a shrug before running upstairs.

Brooklyn gripped my hand in his and kissed my temple before we walked out of the kitchen and into the long hallway that stretched to the door that was about thirty feet away.

"Hello. I'm guessing you're Alpha Brooklyn and Luna Ivy?" The person who seemed to be the Alpha of the pack questioned.

"Yes, we are." Brooklyn kept a firm look, along with a firm voice. We both took the meetings very seriously and never joke around during one. It's also our rules as the leaders of a pack. Brooklyn's parents have taught him that it's better to act professional so people take you seriously and so you get a good name for yourself and your pack. After all, we are the ones who represent the pack as a whole.

"Good. I'm Alpha Christian. It's nice to meet the both of you." He shook Brooklyn's hand and bowed his head respectively to me, since it's shown as respect to the Alpha to not touch or stare at their mate, considering the fact that all male mates and even some female mates are very protective over their other half. It's weird knowing I've learned this just from being Luna for a few years.

I gave Alpha Christian a curt nod of respect and analyzed some of the people that were behind him. Near the back was where I saw the last person I wanted to see. Jacob was actually here.

I looked up at Brooklyn and then at Jacob a few times, but he didn't seem to catch on to what I was trying to tell him.

"Jacob's here. Behind everyone," I informed.

Brooklyn gave a low growl but no one seemed to pay much attention to it.

"Follow us," Brooklyn said. He put his arm around my waist and kept me close to his side as we walked to the room where the meeting would take place. It was a big room with a large round table and a bunch of chairs all around it.

Everyone walked in and sat down. Brooklyn made me sit on his lap, like he would usually do during a meeting. It's not uncommon for an Alpha to have their mate sit on their lap during a meeting, so no one was really phased, although Jacob looked a little agrivated.

Alpha Christian turned to us and waited to see if we would say anything, but we stayed completely silent, so he spoke instead.

"So, shall we begin?"

CLIFFHANGER! Don't hate me! But this was an acceptionally long chapter, so yeah. And I'm also exhausted because it's 3:12am and I have to go to school tomorrow. Fuck. I don't think I've ever cussed in an author's note. Well, now I have, so yeah.... I need some serious help. What is wrong with meeeee?!

Anyway, hope y'all have an amazing day!

See you on the flip side🌵🔄

Sincerely,
Meredith
