That night...

I rolled over again, sighing. Brooklyn was fast asleep and I was nowhere near tired. For some reason I was extremely anxious. I was afraid that we'd be found. I know that it's just a ridiculous thought because there's no way Jacob could find me that easily, but still, I'm afraid.

I sighed, looking out the window. Then I heard a tiny knock on my door.

"Come in," I say, just loud enough for the person on the other side to hear me.

The door quietly opened and I saw the face of Sabrina.

"Hey sweetheart. Why are you up? It's four in the morning," I said, gesturing towards the digital clock that had glowing red numbers on it that read 4:01am.

"I can't sleep," She whispered.

I got out of bed, making sure that I don't wake up Brooklyn before I walked towards her.

"Have you been up this whole time?" I asked.

She nodded, looking down. "I'm scared."

I smiled and bent down to her level. "There's no reason to be scared. Everything's fine. Nothing is going to happen to us."

"But Zion said that someone was gonna kidnap me while I sleep," She said, her voice quivering slightly.

I giggled. "He's just joking around. No one's gonna kidnap you. Me and your dad wouldn't let them."

I saw her green puppy dog eyes look at me, smiling a little.

She hugged me. "I'm still scared though."

"How about I stay with you until you fall asleep," I suggested, pulling away from the hug to look at her face.

She nodded happily. I smiled and stood up, grabbing her hand as I lead her back to her room.

I opened the door to her room and she let go of my hand, hopping into her twin bed. I pulled the blankets up to her chin and grabbed a chair that was in the corner of the room, placing it by her bed and sitting on it.

"Mommy?" Sabrina asked softly.

"Yes pumpkin?" I asked, looking down at her.

"Why did we move so quickly?" She asked.

I averted my eyes from her, biting my lip and thinking about what I should tell her.

"There was a bad person around. But they're gone now," I said softly, hoping I didn't scare her.

"You mean, like a monster?" She questioned. I told her and Zion that there were people that would try to hurt people like us. I called them monsters, but even though I would call Jacob a monster, that's not the type of monster he is.

"Not that kind of monster. A different monster. He was mean to us," I explained.

She nodded and looked away from me. But then she turned back, a sad look in her eyes.

"What's wrong?" I asked, running my fingers through her hair.

"Are we ever going to have to move again like before?" She asked.

"Maybe, but hopefully not," I said, trying to choose my words carefully. I didn't want to scare her.

She nodded.

"Now why don't you try to get some sleep," I said, smiling softly at her. She nodded and turned on her side, facing towards me.

"Goodnight Mommy. I love you," She said softly.
