I woke up, and all I could think about was the fact that I'd have to go to the meeting that my ex boyfriend will be attending. All I could feel was dread. I don't want to be near him after what he's done to me. I don't want to look at him and remember all of what he did.

I looked over at Brooklyn and felt the slightest bit better, knowing that he would be with me. I smiled as he smiled and mumbled my name in his sleep. I kissed his cheek lightly and got up, deciding I'd let him sleep whilst I got the kids ready for school.

Brooklyn and I are currently driving home from dropping the kids off at school. We're going home for a little while before we go to the meeting, which I'm still dreading.

"Babe, are you alright?" Brooklyn asked, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine. I just really don't wanna go to the meeting," I said truthfully.

"I know. I don't either," He said. I could see how uncomfortable he was with the mention of the meeting.

I kissed his cheek and smiled at him. He looked at me for a second before turning his eyes back onto the road.

Silence filled the vehicle and the both of us had no intention of breaking it, since there wasn't anything that was needed to be said. We both didn't want to go because of Jacob. It was obvious. But there was nothing that we could do about it, and we didn't like that.

Once we got home, we both got out of the car, and I unlocked the door before we got inside.

I sat on the sofa and watched Brooklyn as he walked toward me. He sat down beside me and I cuddled into him, not wanting to leave his warmth and comfort.

"Do we have to go?" Brooklyn asked as he checked his phone. I saw a glimpse of the time and was reminded that we only had a few hours before we have to go. It was 9:16am and we have to go to the meeting by about 4:00pm.

"Yeah. We can't just skip it," I said, knowing that our pack would be disappointed and agitated from our unnotified absence.

"But we could say that we don't want to go anymore for a reason," Brooklyn suggested. We both knew it wouldn't work though.

"Yeah, but the meeting is today and the other pack is most likely preparing. We can't just back out," I stated.

He groaned and pulled me closer to him. "But I don't wanna go! I wanna stay here and cuddle with you."

"I know. But we can't," I said, offering him a small smile.

He pouted and I giggled. He grinned cheekily and kissed me.

"Fine. But right now we're going to cuddle," He said, faking seriousness.

I rolled my eyes. "Okay. What ever you say, Alpha."

He laughed and kissed my head before we started talking nonsense.

Hey guys! The chapter is short, but I'll try to make it longer for the next chapter. And the next chapter will also be more interesting for a number of reasons.
