Star cautiously opened the door, and looked at her date, he was wearing a black suit and his hair was brushed out of his face and his emerald green eyes were on show and seemed to sparkle when he saw her.

"Wow, Star, you look so beautiful," Oskar winked.

"Hey Oskar," Jackie leaned forward so she could see Oskar and waved at him.

"Hey Jackie!"

"Shall we go then?" Marco got up and held out his hand for Jackie to hold, she took it and the four of them left the room, Marco closed the door behind them and they walked down the halls, with Jackie clutching his hand tightly.

They got to the main hall and saw the decorations, there was banners up saying 'Welcome Students' and a table full of delicious looking food. The music blasted loudly and some of the students were already dancing alone or in couples.

"Shall we dance, Jackie?" Marco grinned at Jackie.

She nodded and the couple went to the dance floor.

"What do you wanna do Star?" Oskar wrapped his arm around Star's neck.

Star ducked under his arm and stood in front of him, "I think we should dance," Star gulped nervously.

Star had only danced in front of this many people at the blood moon ball, she shivered at the thought of it...

~Flashback To The Blood Moon Ball~

Star got into the blood red carriage, she had a bad feeling about this. She still wondered why she accepted Toms offer of taking her to the blood moon ball, but he made the entire ball so he could dance with her under the blood moon, so she had to say yes, right?

Once she got there she was greeted by her boyfriend, Tom, he was dressed in a white suit. He took her hand and took her inside his castle, the room was full of monsters, most of them were wearing masks and Star felt a little left out.

"I should've bought a mask," Star said disappointedly

"You don't want to cover that pretty face of yours, Star," Tom lifted her chin up with his finger.

Star looked at the ground, this was defiantly a bad idea...

"It's almost time for the blood moons appearance," Tom said excitedly, causing Star to snap out of her trance.

"What is the blood moon?" Star tilted her head.

Tom looked extremely surprised, and then he sighed, "the blood moon, It comes down every hundred or so years, and I make this special dance so a lucky couple can be chosen by the blood moon. It selects two lucky people and binds their souls together for eternity..."

"So it like, selects your lover?" Star frowned, she didn't like the idea of that.

"Kind of, it basically shows you your soulmate I guess, its a mystery," Tom shrugged.

"So it comes down today and selects two people?"

"Yep, and them two people are going to be us," Tom smiled, showing of his two white fangs.

"Yeah," Star smiled although she secretly hoped it wouldn't pick her so she wouldn't have to dance in front of all these masked 'beings'.

"Come, I'll tell the musicians to get the music ready," Tom said and dragged Star over to the dance floor.

He left and came back a few minutes later, "its almost time..." he whispered and looked up, the moon was a strange orange colour.

Star grunted nervously as the music started playing and the huge glass roof above them opened up, she felt the cool but refreshing breeze hit her face, causing the two blonde strands, which she had left out of her bun, blow behind her ears.
