Heat radiated and flowed through the entire castle as sweaty students travelled from class to class. "Quidditch practice." Theodore announced loudly making the girl jump a metre high. "Alright." On her feet she was off. Serenity found her uniform to be sweaty but still she trudged from the changing room to the field.
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. Ten saves were made by the keeper. Serenity had a few blows to the chest but didn't care as not a single goal was scored. "Well done." Chanted around as they all congratulated one another for their work. "My glasses are all gross." Serenity announced and began removing her muddied and smelly clothes. "Nah hoe." She shouted as one other student tried to give her a hug still in the muddy and sweaty uniform.
"You are so good. I mean, not one was good enough for you." Serenity laughed the compliment off and linked her arms with Theodore. "What if she sees us?" He asked gingerly as his eyes darted. "We linked arms. Sorry." Immediately the girl pulled her arm from him and a hurt expression passed her features. "No, what if a certain woman sees?" Seren just shrugged. "She does not know that I know." He nodded and then held his arm out to her which, gladly she accepted.
"Our second year is almost over. I mean, we won't be able to see one another through the summer. I wish you could come with me." Although she meant well it only reminded Seren that Alex had a home, parents that wanted her. "I know. I mean maybe my parents will grow a back bone and just tell me. I just do not wish to go back to that hell hole." Alex nudged her friend and pulled her from a trance.
"Miss Tipton, for the past year you have been completely disrespectful. Only to me though. I want an honest answer." Defiantly Serenity shook her head. "In class today alone you, talked, did not do your work, distracted my lesson, turned up late and then packed up before I told you to." A look of 'and?' Came as a reply and Minerva found her heart sink at the girl who clearly did not like her. Her daughter that did not like her. "Why?" At no point was the professionalism lost from Minerva. "I have friends to get to." Serenity just left. No more was said but Albus walked in seconds after and locked the door as well as casting a silencing charm.
"Minnie. What happened?" His hands covered hers as he aimed to sooth. "She hates me. My own daughter hates me. She stormed from here and what is more is that I let her." He did love her even if it was not romantically, aside from when the baby happened, and it caused him distress to know that his Minnie was upset.
The grass was scratching the bare legs that sat on top of it. "Did you actually do that?" Wide eyes asked in shock. "No Tommy, I made it all up." Sarcasm laced and decorated the sharp voice. "Why did she just let you?" A look of 'you are stupid' met him as she whispered "she is my mother." Tommy carried on with his work and so did Serenity. "Seren, you know that I am here. So is Alex and Theodore." A tight embrace was lunged at him and he laughed as she pulled away sheepishly.
"Alex got a girlfriend." Seren was shook. "No, did she finally ask Sierra?" He gave a 'kind of' look. "Sierra asked her last lesson." Immediately Serenity was on her feet and packed. "I am off to see my hoe." Tommy followed closely as the got to the Ravenclaw common room. Alex sat with Theodore and his face shone when he saw Serenity. "Alex you beautiful beast. Tell me the details." For an hour they sat and spoke of the girl in question.
Eventually it got to night and so the girls said their goodbyes and waltzed off to bed. The usual hugs and cheek kisses were given. "So, I have Sierra. Theodore will hopefully follow, right?" Serenity found her heart being crushed and missing more than just one beat. "Who would he ask?" Eventually Serenity asked but Alex laughed loudly. "You." Serenity found her heart steadying and her head shaking.
"Few issues there. He is embarrassed to be seen with me. Nor does he like me and do not get me started on the way he looks at Lucy. We are also second years. I am 13 years old. So is he." Alex rolled her eyes obviously displeased. "No, Lucy is not his type. She is also going out with Jack. His whole face lights up with you around and he is scared that your parents will act out about him. So what if we are 13? Beauty knows no bounds." Her platinum blond eyebrows wiggled jokingly at the comments. "No, besides, I don't want me so he wouldn't want me."
"Serenity Ellis what ever your real last name is, I do not believe that I have ever met a person who has ever actually meant these things aside from you. Your jokes are too much and frankly both of us know that they are not even jokes. Get a grip, just because those adults will not accept you it does not mean that us four will not, Sierra included." Seren nodded and let a stray tear fall.
"I am going to speak to Dumbledore. Do you think it would be okay if I spent my holiday with one of you?" Wide eyes greeted her and she was wrestled into a hug. "All four of us have told our parents a little of the situation. Your real parents excluded and all said that if needed you could stay with us."
Eventually Seren managed to get the overly excited girl off and work her way to the dreaded office again.
