Ah, oh dear.

The blue bedding was inviting and so warm but Alex and Sierra dragged the once sleeping witch from the bed. With a thump she was free and awake but it was the last day and so freedom would not be felt for long. "We have packed you so much food, mostly sweet, we have also made sure that we are with you until we leave."

True to their word the five all lingered till they had to leave and when they did, a loving hug and cheek kiss was given to her. Though, as expected she was alone and in the office of McGonagall again. Waiting to be collected. "Now, I will see you on the first day back. Understood?" No response came and instead silence. It was the woman's fault that she would be in care after all.

Mr R... Serenity had forgotten. Collected her and not even a backwards glance was given as she left. The holidays would quickly begin and so would a change. It was now that McGonagall realised the certain nature of her daughter. "I do not know if I will see you on the first."

The room was like a cell and again the isolation began. No sunlight was found as curtains were also in place but they were so small that it almost looked like a joke. "Food." The slip on the bottom of the door opened and food was given. "This place has always been my favourite." She muttered before placing it on the 'out' space. The space where it would be collected from in an hour or so.

"You must come with me. You need school supplies." The man from before commented but she spoke for the last time. "No. I am not going back. It is like giving someone a whole chocolate bar but only letting them have some of it. They can see it but they cannot not have it." The door slammed shut and he stormed off. The echoes surrounded him.

Tired eyes shot into life as the door was noisily opened. It was obvious that the hinges needed oiling and so Serenity spoke. "Please just oil the fucking door." A small laugh then escaped her when a shocked Minerva stood watching the small witch. "Language." A stern, tight lip retorted and berated the girl who just sighed. "How can I help you? I am inmate 24601." There was a definite degree of dry humour that was well heard.

"School supplies." Was all that was said and Serenity just laid her tired head down again. "Get up." Still no movement. "Why do you think that this is acceptable?" Patience was lost finally as her eyebrow arched. "I have a right to say 'no' and as it is the only thing I have the right to then I shall take it." Eventually the door was shut and then steps were evenly heard. The bed that was just behind the girl was dipped as the woman sat. Serenity kept her eyes closed and faced the wall.

It was a good few moments and Serenity had almost fallen asleep again until the woman spoke and Seren groaned out of annoyance. "I do know you. I knew that you would be too stubborn to buy them with me so I got them before." A frail hand was placed on the younger girl's and the hesitation was obvious. Still though the young girl pulled her hand away.  "I do not need help. I raised my nephew from day one all because my sister got ill. Besides, ask mum, I am too set in my decision to give in. Once decided I stick. No going back."

Minerva pulled the duvet down and pulled the frozen girl into a seated position. "I should not be able to pick you up. Even if it is gross, tasteless food. Eat." Before the duvet could be pulled back up to cover the hardly covered body McGonagall put her hands on her daughter's. "This room is not suitable for even a prisoner." Blue eyes searched around her as the rotten state came into full view. "Well, it isn't like I didn't try. I went to Professor Dumbledore. You know I did." The perfectly placed bun wobbled slightly as the woman nodded.

The pair had sat in silence and it wasn't until a sudden jump came from the girl that Minerva realised that her student had fallen asleep and then jumped awake when her head fell. "Why are you still so tired?" It was a genuine question and so Serenity answered just the same. "I kept dreaming of my family. My baby boy, my parents and siblings." Minerva was shocked by the honesty. So shocked that she put her foot in it. "It does not do well to dwell on dreams." It was clearly a quote but knees drew close the the pale chest as a technique to pull away.

"I just want to see them again. You are the reason that I can't." She had said it and Serenity realised too late. "What do you mean?" Finally the older woman knew. "Well, you could ignore my real parent's wishes. It is clear that mum and dad want me." Narrowed eyes met the green ones at the clear attempted cover up. "How long have you known?" The bottom lip of the girl was being sucked and bitten between the two lines of teeth. "Just before I came here for the first time." Minerva looked slyly at the girl. "How?" It was short but to the point. "You left the letter that mum sent you out. I recognised the hand writing and I just read it. I am not sorry because the truth is, you were not planning on telling me."

The small girl was pulled to her feet and with a wave of the woman's wand everything was packed and change of clothes was made. "We are going." Out of curiosity the young girl followed. "Hello, her parents have taken her back." That was all the receptionist had but it seemed enough. Minerva held the packed bags as the pair reached an alley just to apparate.
