" He certainly lost his god damn mind! It won't happen right, sir?! " Amelia demanded as she slammed her fist down the desk.

" Before you go berserk mode on my table, I would rather like to know what made YOU lost your mind and attempt such things. Especially with the treaty going on, " the old man representing the entire hunter association said.

" Well.., " her voice trailed off as she was unsure whether she should say it as it was not her story to speak of.

He sighed and said, " Lucian Veranc is not someone to be messed with. I fear for the consequences, Amelia. There is only so much I can do, "

" YOU ARE THE LEADER OF THE ENTIRE CLAN!! " she snapped, fearing that it might actually come true. Being his bodyguard. Being near him.

" And, rightfully tied to the laws, " he answered.

" And, that. You are right, " his deep voice oddly brought her warmth.

" It will not happen, you bloodsucker," Her cheeks flushed just at the sight of him.

" I guessed you would say that, " Lucian handed over a piece of paper over to the head of the association. You will find all twelve of the signatures from the council, agreeing to my demands. They were all quite... eager to comply, " Lucian didn't mention the fact that he threatened to exterminate every single one in their family line if they fail to agree.

He scanned through the paper and looked at Amelia gravely, " It's true, Amelia. I'm afraid you don't have much choice, "

" What. NO. You can't just hand me over! " Amelia exclaimed

" You should have thought of it before stupidly sneaking into my home, " Lucian said

The leader nodded and repeated, " I am rightfully tied to the laws, "

" So be it! Sleep well bloodsucker for it might me who will slit your throat, " Amelia snapped

" Amelia! " the old man reprimanded but she already slammed the door shut. " Be careful, Lucian. She has quite a temper, "

Even better.

Amelia was in a snappy mode all day as she continued to pack to enter a vampire lair.

" I'm sorry that I dragged you into this. It was never my intention for you to end up like this, " Chris said as he continued to stare blankly at Amelia.

" I'm not the one who is facing suspension. Don't worry, Chris. I can handle this, " Amelia smirked as she showed her luggage of katsïya to him.

He laughed. " You know girls usually pack tons of clothes, right? "

" What can I say? Most girls won't be the first in the line to go for some hunting if the treaty breaks," she smirked.

" Take care Ams, " He suddenly hugged her tight. " If you sense trouble, come running to me. I'll teach you a couple of ways to make him sterile "

Amelia's shoulder loosened up. She didn't even realize she was so tensed up. She snuggled closer to him, enjoying their embrace. She realized her feelings for him ages ago but kept it to herself as she was afraid it would damage their friendship. And, in this line of job, love is hard to exist.

And, it was this very moment that Amelia's door slammed open, revealing a very, very furious vampire, Lucian. His movements were so swift that Amelia's eyes could barely follow. Before she knew it, she was snatched away from Chris and Lucian's arm was around her waist.

" Are you crazy! Let go of me! "
" What the hell do you think you are doing! "

Both of the hunters exclaimed at the same time as Amelia struggled to free herself from his grasp and Chris trying to get Amelia back to him.

" You will not go near her! " Lucian snarled possessively.

" You are barking mad. Let her go at this moment or you will face some major consequence," Chris threaten as his fingers grasped the hilt of his katsïya.

All of the sudden, he was gasping for air. His face was pale as a sheet of white paper and his fingers were around his neck, unable to breathe. Amelia quickly broke free from Lucian's hold and rushed to Chris's aid. " Stop it! He's dying !! "

" Come back now," Lucian's tone demanded no questions asked.

" Can't you hear me?! Let him go!! " Amelia was more than desperate, afraid of losing someone she loves.

" I said NOW, " Lucian demanded. Chris condition became worse. He was on his knees and his eyes were bulging.

Afraid and not knowing what else to do, Amelia walked back to his side and Lucian arms quickly snaked around her waist again. Chris immediately found back his ability to breath.

" This is not part of the tre... ," Amelia was cut off by Lucian.

" Don't you even dare to even mention that petty treaty. You and I know it meant nothing to me. We could break it as easily as it made, human. " Lucian hissed into her ears.

Amelia looked straight into his eyes and said, " You are as cruel as they say,"

" You have no idea, lil hunter, " Lucian tried to reel back in his inner darkness which was whispering to him some sweet temptations. Kill the boy. Chain our mate. Never let her leave.

Despite Amelia's strong words that displayed courage, she was shaking from the inside. For the first time, she saw the true powers of a royal blood. If such small action already brought such wrath, she wondered what would her fate be like.

Little did she knew.
