Chapter Seven

Okay. Now, I'm worried, " Amelia stared at her own masterpiece. It was ..unimaginable.

" Imagine the look on his face," Jayden burst into laughter.

The classic Porshe turned into a girly pink car with graffitis all over it. It was supposed to be Lucian's prize possession as he fancied this car.

Amelia's laughs were like a clear and beautiful melody to Lucian's ears. He finally could locate both of them who disappeared after he left. He was pretty taken back by the strong smell of paint though.

" DA HELL IS THIS," he bellowed when his sight was on his favourite car. Profanities kept flying out from his mouth as he glared at both of them. It didn't exactly help to calm him down when both of them were literally laughing their stomach out.

" Happy birthday! We figured a lil paint job on your car would be the best gift ever! " Amelia said in between of her laughs, tears welling in her eyes.

Lucian sent a deadly glare at her but somehow his anger died down pretty quickly just at the sight of her laughing. Somehow, he ended up smiling as well but that faded off away pretty quickly as well when the thought of his best friend was the one who made her laugh. Not him.

He tried to rub his jealousy away as it was his best friend but it wasn't as easy as he thought.

" Dude, wanna go for a car ride?" Jayden dared, wiggling his eyebrows.

Lucian furrowed his eyebrows.
" Be careful, Jay. Yours might end up flashier than this."

Jayden pretended to make a horrified face by squashing his cheeks together. " Oh my Godddddd," He used a girly, high pitched voice to annoy Lucian again.

Amelia kept smiling at the scene before her. Lucian was struggling to keep his face straight when Jayden continued to fire his sarcastic comments. It never occurred to her that vampires lead such a life. She always assumed that they were either feeding on innocents or... feeding on innocents. As the matter of fact, she realized that a hunter's life was very much gloomier than theirs.

Hunt and Kill.

That was pretty much what they do. All of the sudden she felt that she was the monster, not them.

When Lucian realized Amelia's mood shifted, he looked over his shoulder and asked, " What's wrong? "

Amelia quickly dispersed her dark thoughts. " What can I say? You guys are bickering like 7-year-olds, "

" Says the one who painted my car into flamingo PINK," he emphasized.

" But, I thought PINK would suit you. It's sooooo .. pinky and bright. It might take off some of that gloomy aura around you," she pouted.

" Awww.. Come on, Lucy. It took us real effort to be extra creative for you," Jayden chimed in. " Hey! Let's go for a pizza! "

" Don't you dare! " Lucian will NEVER risk his sire line seeing him in that bloody car.

Jayden sent a knowingly look to Amelia and she got the meaning almost immediately. " Go for it, girl. Revenge is sweet. "

" We can't? Ohhh.. but.. ," Amelia tried her best to mimic those girls who used their puppy eyes as a weapon.

" Come on, dude. It's like a 5 minutes drive," Jayden added, pushing Lucian aboard.

" Exactly. We would be faster on feet," It pained him to let Amelia down but ...

" She's not a vampire. She would tire herself for no reason. Not that I'm looking down to you, babe " Jayden added, adding a wink at the end of the sentence.

Amelia would have been offended on normal days but getting Lucian into that horrifying pink car would be the achievement of the year.

Lucian looked into her eyes and knew he was a goner. " Fine. We are going so fast that anyone would barely get a glimpse of me," he grumbled lowly.

" Yohoo! We did it, girl! " he high-fived Amelia.

Lucian wasn't kidding about his high-speed driving. Amelia was pretty sure she would have throw up if he kept up with his ridiculous speed down the slope.

" Lucy is driving a pink car. Pink car," Jayden sing-song.

" You should be glad my hands are on this wheel because it would have been around your neck," Lucian growled lowly, hitting the acceleration again.

" Awwwwwww, do want a Barbie doll as a birthday gift, Lucy? " Amelia added gasoline to the flames.

" Awwww... You are actually thinking of my birthday, dear? " Lucian cooed.

" How can we not, Lucy. BARBIE DOLL SET IT IS! " Jayden chipped in.

" Jay.. " Lucian warned. " Call me Lucy again- ," His words were cut short as Lucian suddenly stepped on the emergency brake.

The car swayed to the side of the road, missing the collision with the trees by inches. If Lucian continued with his previous speed, the consequences would have been deadly.

" Da hell, Lucian! " Amelia cursed, barely kept her head from colliding with the front seat with her hands.

She was about to curse more when she regained her balance but stopped when she realize the shift in the air. Both Jayden and Lucian were tense and their predator mode was clicked on. Amelia couldn't blame them when her eyes set on the sight before them.

They were surrounded by a group of vampires and they certainly don't look very friendly. They were snarling with their saliva dripping out. Amelia quickly assessed their situation. There were at least 20 of them and the chance of them escaping were pretty slim.

" I thought you are supposed to be the big badass vampire," Amelia lamely joked, fingers wrapped around the hilt of her katsiya.

" With enemies," Lucian said as the group of vampires came closer.
