Chapter Six

"So shall it be, " Her words. She had no idea why in the world she would say that. Maybe she was busy diverting his attention and accidentally said that? Or she already wanted it very badly and it just slipped out? She hoped it's not the latter.

His expression was hilarious. He was clearly not expecting her to say that with his eyes so wide open.

1 for Amelia
0 for Lucian

But, then again how the hell was she going to deal with the consequences?

-1 for Amelia
0 for Lucian

Damn. Damn. Sometimes she wished she would use that big head of hers. She scrambled to find an escape path before he regained back himself but it was too late. A sly grin was already plastered on his face.

"Oh really?" His hand snaked around her waist, pulling her close.

Amelia's heart hammered against her own ribcage. Fear and excitement coursed through her. Fear of actually losing herself to him. Fear of what she had in mind when he said those words. At the same time, all she wanted to do was to let loose of herself.

"Why all the doubts? " she whispered into his ears as she toyed with his tie. She decided to play with fire if she was about to test her own theory whether her fear was real or a made up fear in her own mind.

"It's just a kiss. It's just a kiss. At least, I will know the truth," she kept repeating those words in her head as he was closing in. She thought he would just go straight to the kiss and it would be over soon.

But, no he didn't.

He was trailing kisses all the way from her earlobe to her neck and as each millisecond passed, Amelia could feel her will fading away fast and her legs going weak. Her whole body was responding to his kisses. And, he chuckled. He chuckled.

He friggin laughed at her body responding to him.

Amelia's cheek flushed into deep shades of red. Embarrassed, she tried to get some distance between them but to no avail.

"What's wrong, dear?" he asked.

Anger flared up in her. How dare he mocked her. She was not this girl. She was not this stupid weak girl acting like a blood whore.

Blood whore.

That word really left a bad taste on her tongue. She gathered all her courage and confidence and put her guard up.

This is a game for two.

She was already plotting multiple ways to bring him down when a sudden knock on the door interrupted them.

"What?" Lucian grumbled and released Amelia from his hold.

"That's really not a way to welcome an old friend," The door opened, revealing another well-built man in his 20s with dirty shades of brown hair.

"I'm not welcoming you, Jayden. Go away, " Lucian stated, flicking him away.

"Ahhhh... You must be the lil gem that Lucian had been hiding from all of us. Amelia, correct?" Jayden strutted in as if he owned the house and ignored Lucian's disapproval.

"Aahhh... You must be Lucian's lil sidekick who couldn't finish me off back in the forest. Jayden, correct?" Amelia mocked him by using his exact tone.

"I like her already! " He smirked at Lucian but Lucian's eyes were swirling with anger." Okay okay. Caira sent me. She said she needed the documents. I'll be out of your way once it is in my hands, "

"What are you waiting for? Go get it," Lucian said impatiently, tapping his fingers impatiently on the antique cupboard.

"No offense but your study room is a friggin junkyard. There is no way I would know which is the correct one. Plus, Caira would be mad if I have gotten the wrong ones," Jayden said as he made silly faces as he tried to impersonate Caira's angry face.

Lucian sighed at his helpless friend but went away to get them.

"I didn't know that vampire could be so friendly," Amelia doubted, eyeing Lucian as he disappeared behind the stairs.

"Hey! We are not anti-social freaks!" Jayden said defensively.

"Right. " Amelia answered sarcastically as she pointed the direction that Lucian went.

Jayden burst into laughter. " You got a point there."

" He annoys the hell out of me," Amelia continued. She liked him. He was unlike any vampires. He had a friendly and cheerful vibe in him.

"Get even," he flashed a sly grin.

Amelia was about to complain again but stopped in her tracks when she saw that mischevious pair of wild green eyes. "What's the big plan, comrade?"

"Why bother, partner in crime?" he grinned.

"I'm really liking you more and more, comrade,"

"Who doesn't?"

Amelia could barely wait for it to happen because she was pretty sure whatever that he was about to do would be jaw-dropping.
