Annabeth’s POV

“My Gods, Connor, that’s not how you solve the problem!”

It was like the tenth time I had to explain to him how to do something. I was really glad to have him in Calculus because even if I had a bad day avoiding Percy, he would always bring a smile to my face with his foolish jokes.

I was about to start yelling at him again but the bell rang.

“The bell saved you, Stoll.”

“Chill, woman.” He smirked and walked me to my locker.

We walked past Percy’s locker and his eyes lit up when he saw me. He quickly waved goodbye to his friends and ran over to Connor and me. I groaned and turned away but Percy went in front of me.

“Annabeth, can we..talk?” His eyes were pleading but I honestly didn’t feel like talking to him.

I noticed Connor started to walk away but I grabbed his arm and gave him a look that said Stay.

“I can’t really talk right now, sorry.”

Percy gave me a half smile and those puppy dog eyes before nodding and returning to his friends.

“Um, may I ask what happened?” Connor asked once we were at my locker.

“No, you may not.” I smirked as he stood there against a locker, completely confused.

Percy’s POV

“I swear that was like the best goal I have ever seen in my life.” Jason and Nico were talking about last night’s football game as we sat on the bleachers.

I wasn’t paying much attention since all I could do was think about Annabeth, who was completely and entirely ignoring me by now and I had no clue why.

I noticed Piper making her way over to us so I waved at her as she sat beside Jason.

“Hey Pipes,” She blushed as Jason kissed her on the cheek.

“Ugh” I heard Nico say as he killed a spider next to his shoe.

“If Annabeth was here, she would have started yelling and running away because of her terrible fear of spiders,” She laughed and I looked down to the ground.

Everything reminded me of her.

“Uh, Percy, how are things between you and her?” Jason asked as I glanced around one more time to see if I could find that certain blonde. She was nowhere to be found, not even under her usual tree with her friends.

“Complicated,” I whispered and shook my head. Piper bit her lip as she looked at me sympathetically.

“I really think you should talk to her,”

Well duh.

“Yeah, I tried but she just pushes me away…I don’t even know what happened. After that day at my house she just started ignoring me for no reason. I thought maybe she went shy after we kissed, or maybe scared, but ah, I don’t know.” I shrugged and Piper nodded.

“She does have a reason, though…”

“What? Well can you tell me?”

“Sorry, Percy, you should figure it out yourself. Just please fix things between the two of you. She was so happy and now she’s just…disappointed I guess.”

“Can you at least convince her to come to the party?” She nodded and I half smiled at her.

I didn’t know what to think anymore. What did she mean? ‘You should figure it out yourself’

I’m not some kind of psychic; I can’t just read her mind.
