Percy’s POV

“Hey man,”

Connor stopped by my locker as I was getting my stuff to go home.

“Hey, what’s up?”

“Are you free today? We haven’t hung out in a while so maybe you would like to come to my place today,”

I shook my head and he frowned.

“Can’t. I got practice.”

“It’s alright, I can wait for you,”

I looked at him weird. It’s not that I didn’t want to hang out with him but after school was the only time I could see Annabeth and she wouldn’t be able to ignore me. I wanted to talk to her about us today, but since I’m a great friend, I agreed.

“Fiiine.”

I grabbed my swimming stuff and we made our way to the pool.

“Jackson!” Coach shouted at me, as always.

“Who’s this?” He nodded at Connor and he waved back.

“A friend, Coach.”

“Alright.” He turned away from me and shouted at the whole team, “Let’s move, ladies!”

After swimming for a whole hour and a half, I was completely exhausted.

“Woah bro, you’re really good,” Connor patted my back when I finished changing into dry clothes.

“Thanks.”

I went over to his place and we started playing FIFA. I was beating him by like 2 goals when I got a message from someone.

Calypso: Hey love, where are you right now?

I groaned and Connor noticed because he paused the game and turned to me.

“What is it?” He asked, and I showed him the message.

“I don’t know, she thinks we’re like dating or something,”

I shrugged.

“Well probably because you kissed her,” I heard him mutter.

I just looked at him, stunned. How in Tartarus did he know about that? And worst of all; did Annabeth know?

“Wait, what? First of all, I didn’t kiss her; she kissed me. And how the hell do you even know about that?”

He scratched the back of his neck and looked at the ground.

“Uh, umm…Luke told me he saw you guys,” He said quickly and I cursed under my breath.

He probably told Annabeth as well. Ugh. I mentally face-palmed myself.

“Okay, we are not dating and I did not kiss her. I pushed her away, I swear.”

Connor raised his hands in surrender and we returned to the game. I couldn’t help but worry that Annabeth might know.

By the time I went back home by myself, Annabeth had left. I grabbed my phone and searched for her name in my contacts.

Me: Hey Wise Girl

I waited a few minutes but she didn’t answer so I decided to call her instead.

To my surprise, she answered after a few rings.

“What in the name of the gods do you want now?” She said before I could even open my mouth to say her. Wow, she must be really mad.

“I really think we should talk,”
