When we get our food and finally sit down,we just eat our food in silence. I notice that he looks up at me a few times, and I do the same, but none of us wants to speak.
When I finish I just sit there looking around at the few Dauntless that joined us in the caffeteria. All of them,as usual, are extremely loud. There are only six people and it sounds like a whole bunch of screaming banshees. I look away once two of them started an arguement about something and I somehow become brave enough to say something to Tobias.
"Why did you decide to even stay here in Dauntless." I say plainly.
He looks up at me almost shocked but it quickly fades. I guess nothing surprises him anymore.
"I couldn't bring myself to leave." he says pausing for a moment,"I don't want to leave the place that brought me to Tris."
He looks away and doesn't even look back at me. Maybe I shouldn't of said anything about it but it's not like I knew all these things. I'm practically clueless as to why he even stayed inside the fence. That fence is what kept us all out for decades yet he refuses to leave.
"You don't have to stay,Four. She'll understand if you did,and I know she would." I say.
"I know...because she's that selfless." he says with a ghost of a smile.
He looks back at me,and looks directly into my eyes and I stare into his. His deep blue eyes sparkle as some light finds its way to his eyes. Those are the same eyes that I fell in love with 2 and a half years ago,not the one's that show pain and suffering.
"I still miss her,Christina." he says with a sadness that makes me want to cry,"I see her everywhere I go. She's walking down the hallways or standing in front of a target in the training room. I even see her in the ravens."
"I see her to." I begin to say "She's here,Four. You may not see her,but she's here."
We stay silent for a awhile. I listen to the loudness that seems to pile in as time passes by,until Tobias speaks.
"I felt her." he blurts out "When I was in her bedroom in Abnegation,I felt her kiss me."
"I believe you. I've seen Will walking up and down the hallways several times recently. I actually think that Will and Uriah might be the ones messing around with the weapons in the training room. It sounds like something they would do." I say laughing slightly.
He frowns when I mention Uriah's name and looks down at the table.
"So many deaths." he states.
"So many lives...gone." I add.
We just sit there staring at the table until I decide to check my watch. It's 2:31. I didn't even know it was that late.
"I should get going." I say standing up with my trash bundled up into a ball in my hands.
I wait a moment for him to say something but he just keeps taring at the table. I just nod and bite my bottom lip as I turn and walk away.
As I walk down the twisted hallways again,I think about Tobias. All this time I have been thinking about just going with this whole thing until I find some answers, but I don't need to sit around and wait for them to come to me. I need to search for them.
By the time I get to my apartment I make a decision. I need to contact Uriah.
