After the long, awkward bus ride we arrive at Janesville High. I notice everyone standing up so I wait for Jahseh to get up so I can know where to go.
He gets up and I trail behind him and his friends off the bus, towards the school. "Jahseh do you know where the office is?" I call out. I notice his friends look back and snicker.
I then notice him speed walking farther away from me. Oh great! 🙄 I enter the big school trying to get through crowds. Ok I cannot lose Jahseh I need to keep a look out because I don't know where to go.
I eventually lose him in the crowd. I smh in frustration. I then notice a girl walking towards me looking around like she was looking for somebody.
She then bumps into me. Not paying attention to where she was going.
"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry! I wasn't watching where I was going..." She says nervously laughing.
"It's ok.. Everyone makes mistakes." I say shrugging.
" I don't recognize you... You just move here?" She asks putting her binder against her hip.
" I guess so... I'm new. Somebody's s'posed to be giving me some kinda tour but they obviously are very bad at their job... " I complain but just shrug it off.
"Wait so you're the new girl?" She asks.
"Well I said I'm new so I don't know what else to tell you." I say bluntly, shrugging
"Autumn Rain?" She asks looking at her sheets of papers in her binder.
"No it's Rein. ( Ruh- yeen)" I correct her
"I'm your tour guide Journey... Come with me." She says looking me up and down then tilts her head a little signaling for me to follow her.
She grabs my hand and we shuffle through the crowds of people to the office.
As she pulls me through the crowd of people, I notice how packed this school is. I hate it. I've never done good with too many people.
We finally arrive a big room. The office I'm assuming, because it says " The Office " right in front of it. Lol
"Wait right here." She says pointing to a bench for me to sit on then she runs into the office.
Nobody tells me what to do so I'll just keep standing.
After like 2 minutes, she runs out no longer holding the binder of papers but just two hall-passes with yarn on it to go around our necks.
" here you go Autumn." She says handing me one and starts walking.
I put mine on and start following her.
" what's your name?" I ask because I'm not about to be walking around with a complete stranger and not know their name...
" I already told you... My name is Journey." She says shrugging.
Interesting name...
"Ok"
" So here's the Cafeteria..." She says as we approach a room full of high schoolers eating breakfast.

"Thanks for the Tour Journey..." I say to Journey before exiting the school.
I walk to Alyssa's car parked in front of the school and I get in the front passenger seat.
" how was school?" She asks as soon as I shut my door and start putting my seatbelt on.
