The lights went black, and the some 5,000 bodies went wild, screaming and cheering. Mike, Lucas, Dustin, Max, and Will among them, but standing off side stage, hitting and hollering while they awaited El's performance at the Saratoga performing arts center.
A smaller band had just performed, leaving the suspense for the concert about to begin. The sound of someone humming appeared followed by the low and soft voice the girl performing that night.
"Two households, both alike in dignity
In fair Verona, where we lay our scene

What here shall miss, our toil shall strive to mend." Her voice trailed of softly, and the distant sound of a song playing became louder, louder until the intro of her first song began. The crowd surrounding the stage and gathering on the lawn roared as her figure appeared on the stage.
"They send me away, to find them a fortune a chest filled with diamonds and gold." They screamed again, singing as loud as they could, getting so into a song which they had no idea meant so much to the performer.
Mike beamed, singing along with her, proud of his girlfriend for coming so far, finding her passion. He knew this was a hard song for her to sing, the lyrics being about a time that so much impacted her life, he was among so many people that supported her, and Mike believed that the best decision he and Eleven had made was to tell the public about her abilities.
Telling her story, (minus the part about another dimension) ignited an international protest to stop human testing, so many people wanted to protect her that there was no way the bad men could get to her.
"I'm bigger than my body..." She slowly walked to the front of the stage.
"I'm colder than this home...." She looked off to the side of the stage, to see her friends and family in the VIP section. She beamed at them.
"I'm meaner than my demons...." She flashed Mike a mischievous grin and winked. The now purple haired boy giving her a thumbs up.
"I'm bigger than these bones." She turned quickly. Her voice raising as she belted out the lyrics.
"And all the kids cried out please stop your scaring me-
The beat picked up, thumping as the end of the song neared.
I can't help this awful energy
god damn right you should be scared
of me who is in control?"
In that moment, performing this song,
El knew that for the first time in a while,
she was in control.
