I'm redacting my original statement that I thought season 3 was amazing. If I'm being completely honest, (after watching it through at 3:00 then watching over it again) I'm kind of low key disappointed.
Feel free to skip this—>
Please don't get triggered these are just my meaningless opinions. The plot for the season was good and somewhat respectable as something that could have happened after season two. I would have liked to see something to do with Hawkins High School though. I know the kids were all on break, but the last shot of season two was the mind flayer hovering over the school during the snowball. Don't you think there should be at least one reference to school if the cliffhanger coming out of S2 was that strong? Maybe the source should have been the school because the mind flayer knows that El was there?
For me, the whole season was too gory and in your face. I'm definitely a fan of some nasty shit like that, but in almost every episode there's people exploding and getting the shit beat out of them, (I liked the exploding rats though, nice touch lol).
Also, all the characters accept El are constantly yelling at one another, I mean yelling. All the scenes (minus the first ep) that aren't "monster scenes" or "El and Mike attempting to make up scenes" are the characters screaming at each other. Might just be me but I thought that was consistent. The Russian facility beneath Starcourt seemed wayyyyy ahead of its time. Like the machine looked to be futuristic even for today, I just don't think the technology in the mid 80s was that advanced.
What the heck was the deal with Suzie?
I'm just gonna leave that there.Lumax = Perfect
The green acid looked like it was from the penguins of madagascar or some shit.
El losing her powers is making me hella worried because you lose a large chunk of the story if she loses them for good. Like there's no way to fight inter-dimensional monsters without her powers.
Mileven.
There were some nice moments, like El saying I love you and Mike blurting it out, el being a badass, LOVED THOSE. But, I feel like their relationship is being dialed back to a point where it's trying to be "normal." I think mileven of all ships should be anything but normal.Mike lying to El was completely understandable. Hopper was a scary dude. But I think Mike would know how to make it up to her, and he wouldn't really need Lucas's help because he knows El better than anyone.
I also think that Mike would be more concerned and worried about El in general.Whenever El was being attacked or in the void or something Mike never really seemed to troubled by it. I mean obviously he was, idk maybe it's just me
He kinda sounded monotone the whole time too but that was probably just me.... unless? And what's the deal with the Byers moving away? Where are they going? What's going to happen to El?
I want Brenner to come back ngl
and Kali.I LOOOOVED Billy's redemption, now I'm sad as heck that he's dead because it wasn't his fault, and looking back on season two I can understand why he acts the way he does. My poor bb 🥺
LOOOOVE Steve and Robin's friendship.
LOOOOVE Erica, you can't spell America without Erica!I think Hopper's still alive, he was close to the gate who says he wasn't transported to the upside down?
Also at the end, the Russian is like "not the American" when they are choosing someone to feed to the demogorgon.
*cough I think Hopper cough*Don't kill me because I didn't really like it
EDIT: I just want to remind everyone reading this that these are my literal dumb as hell opinions. And if you don't agree with them that's fine, I honestly couldn't give less fucks about it. But if you're going to try and argue with me over this, well um, kinda pointless because it's a TV SHOW. Like bud I get that we all love ST but y'all don't need to come at me and try to change my mind :)
:)))))) luv u all, hasta
