A Little Experiment

So, in the last chapter, I stated that I would be making a revised version of the Arthurian Legend. Free from the nationalism that has tainted it and etcetera, telling a story that is not meant to be a history of our world nor subtle propaganda, but a story of Arthur's world. With a little bit of my personal venom.

Even right now, I feel like I am unprepared to really bring it to life. Underprepared, with a severe lack of knowledge on relevant information. The deeper I research, the more I realise that I am unsure of certain details, and the more that I realise I would have to use my own original ideas to glue them together. No one interpretation of Arthur has satisfied me, and even after going through numerous poems and writings, I've decided to step up the originality and take more influences from the pagan religions and rituals that predate Arthur's Christianity.

But that's not the reason this chapter is written.

While researching, I had realised that I may not have the capability needed. That, perhaps, I could not forge meaningful relationships between the characters and portray them well. This could make or break the Round Table, as it is a peerage, and terrible execution would wreck a central portion of these Romantic stories. With this in mind, I decided to try and keep myself sharp by working on another Project.

If Evanescence trains my ability to take source material and twist it into contortionist-level bends, then this new Project, currently dubbed 'Nine Muses', is going to be testing my ability to write without any action. Ideally, it will be more poetic, more emotional, oriented to feeling.

Nine Muses.

In Greek Mythology, goddesses of various arts and sciences. This Project will centre around the development of a friendship between nine individuals, who have their own quirks and personalities. They all share one thing, and that is a desire for the feeling of belongingness. I call them the Nine Muses since my current intention is to make them line up with the Muses themselves. Of course, this could change, as it is more of a story that doesn't really have a solid goal for the characters nor ending—being something similar to a snippet of entire narratives—though these may be added. I plan on going at these raw, to see if I can do it on the fly.

So...yeah.

Nine Muses. Watch out for it, I guess? And the eleventh chapter of Evanescence.
