Alexis huffed with annoyance as she plopped down on her bed. The night was almost over and could get better, but Alexis knew that it would become worse. One of the reasons for that was because Ashton was downstairs in the guest room getting situated. Any minute now she would have to head down there and lay down the law of the house.

The reason he was even in the house in the first place was because they had dropped Brooklyn off at her apartment, and then Ashton insisted on driving her home. Alexis knew better then to argue, but the thought of jumping out of the car occurred to her several times. Be the time they reached the house it was close to midnight. Clearly worn out, Alexis trudged to the front door, only to be followed by Ashton who was rambling on about taking her car and returning it in the morning. Hearing that was enough for Alexis to spin around and raise hell. There was no way that she would let Ashton take her car and run the risk of him not bringing it back. That was when the idea of driving all the way back to the city to his apartment came to mind, but she did not have enough energy to do so. One of the only options left was for Ashton to stay the night and in the morning, when she had more energy and would not fall asleep at the wheel, was to drive him home.

In a matter of minutes Alexis had slipped out of her clothes and into a pair of sweat pants and sports bra. Pulling her blonde hair into a ponytail, she soon slipped out of her room and headed downstairs. With each step she took she was one step closer to facing the guy that she wanted to hate. The problem was that it had occurred to her that maybe the feeling of hate was no longer coursing through her body, making her want to lash out and have him Deleted so that he was no longer apart of this world.

The door of the guest room was shut, making Alexis freeze in place. Should she go in there? What if he was not really in there and had snuck out and gone home? What if she opened the door to find him sprawled out on the bed sleeping? What if he was not sleeping, but jacking off or something of that nature? There were too many ‘what ifs’ and the only way to find out was to open the door.

Placing her hand on the door handle, Alexis pushed the brass handle down and put her weight forward, causing the door to open. She was almost scared to look, not sure what her eyeballs would soak in.

“Ashton?” Alexis asked cautiously, stepping into the room.

Glancing up from his phone, Ashton’s eyes met hers. “Yes?”

Relief washed over Alexis when she saw that he was just on his phone. Granted, he could be looking up graphic images or videos, but that was not her problem. As long as she did not see anything she was good.

“I need to tell you the house rules.” Alexis moved over so that she standing at the end of the bed. For a moment sitting down on the bed crossed her mind, but that might not be the best idea.

As if he could read her mind though, Ashton gave Alexis a soft smile and moved over some so that Alexis could sit down.

Wearily, Alexis took a seat, pulling her legs up onto the bed and tucking them beneath her. “Anyway, those rules…” Clearing her throat, she ran over the list in her mind one last time. “One: no stealing. Trust me, Aunt Bea will realize if even a fork is missing. Two: No going upstairs without permission. Three: Don’t do anything that could wake anyone up. Lastly, be respectful.” Alexis knew that the fourth rule mainly applied to when you were around her aunt or uncle, but said it anyhow.

For what seemed like forever, there was only silence. Alexis started to wonder if Ashton had even heard her. About to repeat all of the rules again, she looked Ashton squarely in the eyes and parted her lips. It was then that the curly haired drummer spoke up.
