BUT FINALLY AN UPDATE
-

It's been a full week since Jungkook had been promoted to work along side his boss, Kim Seokjin. As the top chef's assistant, he was given much more responsibility, pounds of pressure, as well as more exposure.

Jungkook just had so much piling on his plate, although he was good at several of his hobbies—multitasking was never something he quite mastered.

However, Jungkook was sure enough he could handle it today.

The restaurant had a special event happening in celebration for the fifth year of its opening, allowing more customers than usual to come through the large glass doors. It was a very busy day, you could assume. The kitchen was especially chaotic, forcing the maknae to be on his toes.

"Order for table twenty-seven is ready!" A co-worker yelled through the loud kitchen, the plate was handed down skillfully past the other hard-working cooks.

Jungkook wiped his sweat with a cloth, before retrieving the dish and making his way out of the blazing cuisine. He stepped out into the open, servants rushing across the floor, waiters taking orders while people were on stand by, awaiting to get seated.

As Jungkook reached table twenty-seven, he spotted his boss on the other side of the restaurant talking to few business people. He placed the customer's order down with a smile, earning a thank you—when he had heard his name being called.

"Jungkook-ssi, Boss wants you to go take the order at table thirteen, he's occupied." His coworker, Hoseok had quickly notified. Jungkook was confused with the sudden switch, but was quick to act, removing his apron and tucking it in his back pocket.

He neared the couple sitting at the table, pulling out his notepad and pen.

"Hello, my name is Jungkook, I'll be your waiter for t—"

"Yeah, I'll have anything on here with plenty of meat." One of the two males said, a look of boredom on his face as he looked at the menu with distaste.

He had jet-black hair, a mean yet pale appearence and a deep raspy voice. The other blonde male sighed, holding his head.

"Min Yoongi." He said through gritted teeth. It seemed they had recently got into an argument.

"Park Jimin."

"Babe, this is a fancy restaurant, just pick something." He sighed, running his hand through his hair as he turned his head to look up at Jungkook.

"Hello, sorry for the rudeness, Jungkook was it?" The employee nodded his head, eyes-locking with the boy in front of him. The blonde had a radiant, young face. His eyes twinkled, as he showcased a small-elegant smile.

He was beautiful. Unfortunately, Jimin hardly acknowledged him.

"My boyfriend and I will have beef stew and two glasses of the best wine, please." Jungkook quickly snapped from his gaze and wrote was spoken. He had taken the menus from them, and was on his way back into the kitchen.

But not before glancing back at the blonde, to be thrown a wink. So, he had been noticed.

-

The rest of his shift consisted of switching between chef duty and taking orders, the couple he had taken an order from an hour ago were still in their booth.

Jungkook refilled their glasses whenever they became empty. The more he passed by the table, the more he had taken note of the tension between the two.

They were heard bickering, nearly causing a commotion that would've gotten both of them kicked out.

Jungkook's shift soon ended.

He had taken off his working attire and exited the bathrooms, his eyes downcast on his phone. Suddenly he rammed into someone, his phone flying from his hands.

Jungkook was unaware of the loud sobs that were heard coming down the hallway before the collision.

"Ju-Jungkook?"

He looked down at the blonde with puffy, swollen eyes and a tear-stained cheeks. Jimin nearly tumbled into his arms, as he adjusted his balance using the wall. He was clearly drunk.

"Sir, are you alright?"

"N-no, I'm in pain." He whimpered, holding his head. Jungkook took a hard glance at him, he nearly cradled the boy into his arms.

"Where does it hurt, sir?"

"Here." Jimin pointed at his chest, more specifically where his heart was. He looked up and locked eyes with the employee.

He stared at Jungkook like it was the first time seeing him. He hadn't confirmed how handsome and tall Jungkook was.

"M-my boyfriend broke up with me." He hiccuped, the latter's face softened. Jimin leaned into him and rested his head on Jungkook's chest. His body became stiff.

"Can you take me home with you?" Jimin slurred.

Jungkook had to decline, but how could he?

The other male that he was with probably ditched him and if he did have a car—he surely couldn't drive home in this state.

"Do you have your phone with you? Anyone you can contact?"

"No." He replied, muffled in Jungkook's chest. Jungkook realized he had no other choice.

-

It was night.

Jungkook left with Jimin, taking his car  after finding out Jimin was practically left behind. He managed to keep Jimin awake, pulling up in a dimly lit neighborhood, in front of a small cozy home.

"You can come inside, I don't mind." Jimin told him, a teasingly but drunk smirk appearing on his face. He didn't mean it.

Jungkook only smiled politely, attempting to push Jimin out the car. The drunk boy loud out a chuckle.

Unwanted, he lingered a little longer, staring at the handsome maknae with interest. He reached over and caressed his arm.

"Will I see you again tomorrow?" The question stunned Jungkook. He saw the sadness creep into the blonde's eyes, his actions, however distracting him.

"If you come by the restaurant again, maybe you will."

Jimin giggled, running his fingers on Jungkook's covered bicep. He leaned forward, causing the latter to lean back towards his seat.

"Thank you." He told him, pecking him on the cheek before exiting the car and stumbling to the front step on his porch. Jungkook watched the boy bend over, and  nearly fall face-first.

"So helpless..." The young cook muttered. He reached for his car door, but by the time he looked back—Jimin had already entered went inside.

Jungkook then drove home, silent thoughts running through his mind. He wondered how tomorrow would go. He wondered if Jimin would be at his work place again,

or if this was the last time he'll ever come in contact with him.
