My Guardian Demon
After another argument with Zac on whether I should go home for the day or stay in school, I am currently standing outside my house with a scowl and a very bad headache.
You really don't want to get into a fight with him, as you can see I lost.
I unlocked the door, stepped into my house and threw my bag on the floor without looking at Zac who was probably very happy with himself right now. Collapsing on the couch with a big sigh, I glanced over at my boyfriend who was smirking. He came to sit down next to me making the seat dip.
"You are so stubborn it's actually quite amusing," He chuckled lowly whilst wrapping his arm around my waist and pulling me forward so I was sat on his knee.
"I was okay with staying in school, now I'm missing English 'cause you think I might pass out or something," I argued making him roll his eyes and squeeze my thighs, I jumped almost falling backwards onto the floor but he snaked his arms around my back and smiled.
"Always so clumsy," Zac grinned giving me a little kiss on my nose. "All mine though," Then nipped my bottom lip.
"When did you become so soft?" I teased, a smirk pulling at the corners of my lips. "You used to be such an arrogant, cocky—"
But before I could finish, his lips were on mine, silencing me completely. The softness of his kiss took me by surprise, melting all my words away. My body responded instantly, pressing into his, feeling how perfectly we fit together.
"I wouldn't finish that sentence if I were you," he murmured against my lips, his voice a low warning that made me smile despite myself.
When he finally pulled back, a loud, embarrassing grumble echoed from my stomach. The sound made my cheeks burn as the memory of missing dinner rushed back. I hadn't eaten since... well since I'd been knocked out by Greyson.
Zac raised an eyebrow, a playful smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. His gaze shifted to my flushed face, clearly amused.
"Alright," he said, his voice teasing, "I'll go and make you something." With ease, he lifted me as if I weighed nothing and set me down beside him, then stood up to head toward the kitchen.
"I'll do it!" I protested, attempting to jump up, but before I could get very far, he blocked my way, arms stretched out in front of him like a human barricade.
"I am making you something to eat, and you can't cook. All you will do is make a chocolate spread sandwich which is not a proper meal" He said, "And you have a concussion as well, so don't be stupid and let me do this for you."
"I'm not an invalid," I told him as I walked around him to the kitchen searching through the cupboards. As I searched for something quick and easy to make my eyes started to blur which made it quite difficult to see anything.
My knees became weak till they collapsed underneath me but Zac caught me in his arms and lifted me onto the worktop searching my eyes.
"I told you to be careful, beautiful," Zac murmured, his voice low and warm. His fingers brushed gently up my thigh, sending a shiver through me as he waited for my response, his touch deliberate and patient.
I met his gaze, captivated by the deep chocolate brown of his eyes, the swirling warmth of love and concern that never failed to make my heart flutter.
"I'm okay now," I said, offering him a small smile, though the tenderness in my voice was clear. "Maybe you should just make something."
Zac smiled, pressing a quick kiss to my lips before he moved toward the kitchen. He opened the cupboard with ease, pulling out pasta, then moved to the fridge for cheese, his movements fluid and familiar.
